New & Exclusive Fishing Trip: European Saltwater Fly Fishing Extravaganza

New & Exclusive Fishing Trip: European Saltwater Fly Fishing Extravaganza

We are really excited to announce this new and exclusive saltwater fly fishing holiday, that we believe will quickly become the best saltwater fly fishing tour in Europe.

The Coalfish of Northern Norway possess all the qualities of a first-class sports fish, growing to weights of in excess of 50lb+. Fighting with the same kind of power you would expect from the Tuna species, it is easy to see why they are causing such a fuss.

Having ran Coalfish and Halibut trips at this Camp for the last 10 years we know the best times and places to allow lighter line anglers such as fly and lure anglers to target these magnificent fish. This is the only organized fly trip of its kind and sharing our 23.5 feet Arronett boat between just two of you rather than the standard four gives you all the space you could ever need for casting.

Each trip consists of six anglers paired up into two’s for fishing. Within your six days angling, you will have four days on your self drive Arronett and two days on the guide boat fishing with one of the experienced camp guides. On the days that you are fishing with your guide, you will be taken into the world famous Moskenesstraumen stream which is one of the most powerful in the world. Your guide will manoeuvre his boat into the stream and give you repeated shots at huge fish breaching the surface as they blitz their prey.

Poppers and very shallow running baitfish patterns are what work best at this destination and PB fish fall by the dozen during these intense sessions. Days that you are on the self-guided boats will still allow you to fish the stream but you will have to take it in turns with your fishing partner fas one of you will need to control the boat whilst the others fish.

Before and after the peak times in the stream, both the guide boat and the self-driven boats will drift the waters outside the stream and closer to the shore in search of the dispersed shoals. When drifting the shallower areas keeping an eye out for diving birds as these can show you where the next feeding frenzy is taking place. When drift fishing, intermediate and sink lines can be used to target big Coalfish, Pollock and even Halibut!

Having single en-suite rooms allows you to maximise your down-time and re-coupe after a long time on the water and some arm wrenching action. The Camp has a fantastic restaurant for you would like to go out for food in the evenings or it can be a real pleasure to bring back a fresh Coalfish or mackerel for dinner.
