Four 30Kg Cod Soroya Norway Fishing Report
Norway Fishing Report we’ve had another Norway Fishing Report from our lodge in Soroya in Northern Norway! Friday and Saturday saw two hard days, with rough weather and unsuitable conditions the boats were stranded in the harbour. Even with the bad weather, as you’ll see below the guests still managed a little fishing, something a little different from the norm!
Normal service resumed on Sunday as the strong westerly winds died off and a break in the weather saw all ten boats get out and do what they do best… catch and land some huge Cod.
The last two days saw a colossal fish of 35.5kg landed, this is the biggest of the year so far and could easily be the biggest fish they land all year, but in Sorroya nothing would surprise us! Guide Ulf also joined the 30kg club landing a beauty of 32.5kg, that was one of four 30kg plus fish landed over the past two days!!! With Cod of 35.5, 32.5, 32, 30.8kg! All ten boats over the past two days have also all landed fish over 20kg!
As the sunset yesterday all boats returned to harbor with big smiles, and everyone will sleep soundly tonight! The guide said the boats will set out tomorrow morning at 4.30 on the look out for more big Cod, with a couple of guys trying for potential new world records on the fly rod…
A week tomorrow we will be out there enjoying our first days fishing… I cannot wait, fingers crossed they’ll save some for us, and that the weather gods will be good to us. One’s thing for sure we’ll keep you all posted with a day to day Norway Fishing Report.
