This vast area and its maze of saltwater flats and channels are the perfect habitats for Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit and Snook. One of the highlights of fly fishing in Venezuela around Los Roques is that a majority of the fishing is done wading and sight casting to fish. Los Roques attracts both beginners right through to the most experienced fly fishing anglers for it has something to offer everyone.

Additional Information

Venezuela is a country on the northern coast of South America with an amazingly diverse amount of natural attractions. Along its Caribbean coast are tropical resort islands including Isla de Margarita and the Los Roques archipelago. To the northwest are the Andes Mountains which provide visitors to this beautiful country with many things to keep them occupied whilst staying here.

Venezuela is world renowned for its saltwater flats fishing. These offshore archipelagos provide so many opportunities for anglers, the possibilities are endless. The saltwater flats come alive as the tide runs over them with many fish passing through and holding up in the maze-like territory these flats provide. You will have the opportunity to catch amazing species residing within these fish-rich areas including Bonefish, Permit and the super hard fighting Tarpon.

Venezuela’s largest marine park, El Parque Nacional Los Roques, is hands down one of the most consistent Bonefish fisheries on the planet. A great attraction of Los Roques is that the flats provide a wealth of opportunity for wading and stalking Bonefish, the ultimate challenge in clear water. Each day on Los Roques you will have the option of fishing a variety of different areas. You can choose to wade the large classic-style Bonefish flats, the area‘s famous pancake flats or miles of white sand beaches. On top of this, Los Roques is a year-round fishery.
