Christmas Island is located in the Pacific Ocean, it is a raised coral atoll and part of the Northern Line Islands. Being part of the Republic of Kiribati, Christmas Island is actually called Kirimati and when translated from the Kiribati language means Christmas.
One of the most popular fish to target when fishing Christmas Island is the shadowy, stealthy, ghost of the flats – the amazing Bonefish. The Bonefish you can catch here vary in size but one thing is for certain, these Bonefish will make require a high level of patience if you want to catch one.
Another spectacular species that proves to be a favourite target is the Giant Trevally. These flats will hit your fly’s like a steam train and then scream off at a high rate of knots.
