Replacing Components Norway Fishing Advice

Replacing Components Norway Fishing Advice

A massive question I get asked a lot of the time is, why do you replace the hooks, swivels and split rings on the tackle you buy?

I personally think that it is very important to replace a lot of the end tackle when buying shads, pirks and other items as the manufactories tend to put cheap inferior items on to the tackle they sell, why do they do this? Well all I can think of is to keep the cost of the item down.

We all spend our hard earned cash on fishing abroad so why would you scrimp on spending a little extra on upgrading your tackle?

Would love to hear what you guys do regarding this matter, are you happy to use the hooks or do you replace?

Especially with the big bobs….. Westin for some reason like putting white rope on the hook attachments……. Why????? Wire would be a good option and a good Owner assist hook. Same for any norway pirks replace the split rings and weak hooks.
