Fishing Report Sea Of Cortez and wow, what a month its been with so many different species caught, stormy weather and lots of very happy anglers the Sea of Cortez is THE place to visit for a wide range of Big Game species
All of us in the office simply love our resort in Mexico as we know that who ever travels there will have a great time and catch lots of fish, sometimes not the biggest but you will defiantly catch a lot weather permitting! And boy they had some storms over the last couple of weeks, luckily there has only been one day that has not been fishable as most of the storms are hitting at night time
After all the storms had finished and were a distant memory things started to heat up a bit for all the anglers with 30 – 50 pound Tuna hitting the dock and reports of a 500lb Blue Marlin being caught and released. Along with these there have been many Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Pargo, Roosters and Wahoo making for enjoyable days on the water. Anglers that wanted to go for the Tuna were heading down south about 30 miles and with some great results. Dorado are still small but we are seeing more and more of them.
We also had a 500, 350, 300 Blue Marlin landed and released after the last week of July. Anglers also found success with Striped Marlin and Sailfish and in just one week we had reports of 100 billfish landed, along with these the Wahoo have been caught to around 15 – 45 pounds
Also, if you fancy trying your arm at a bit of fly fishing either from the shore or boat, fully guided then let us know at the time of booking and we can look at adding this on. You will receive an ATV with a guide who will chase the Roosters up and down the shore line with you giving you the best shot at catching these stunning fish on the fly and once you see the fin of a Rooster busting the surface chasing your fly you will not want to catch anything else
So if you have ever fancied catching your self some of these very impressive Game fish then look no further than Palma De Cortez in Mexico, the resort is excellent and the fishing is simply the best. We are currently taking bookings for the rest of this year and spaces are filling fast for 2015 so give us a call and we can look at dates that fit with you.
Until next time, tight lines
