Palma De Cortez Mexico Amazing Fishing

Palma De Cortez Mexico Amazing Fishing It has been another brilliant weeks fishing at our resort in Mexico, The Palma De Cortez. Once the storms had subsided and the boats returned to the Ocean, the bite was on big time. With many boats reporting massive amounts of big Dorado and some big Sailfish, everyones spirits we at a high again. Our friend Ahmed had the time of his life catching a huge amount of prized fish including some very impressive Sailfish. His remarks on returning from Mexico was “Thank you for one of the best trips”. Glad you liked it Ahmed and hopefully next time we can help you get your target of a very big Tuna

We also received our weekly report from our fishery manager, Eddie and by the looks of things Ahmed wasn’t the only lucky angler. I will hand you over to his report

Fishing Report

Hola Amigos,

Fishing this week was off the charts once again in the East Cape. It really was a typical East Cape week, with lots of species, quantity, but nothing giant to report. Most boats are going after the Dorado and tuna right now with great success. Many boats are coming back with limits on both Dorado and tuna, so the bite is wide open. Most of the Dorado and tuna have been landed about 30 miles south of Palmas near Los Frailes. Nothing very big to report but we did see some nice 25-35lb. Dorado and some 50-80lb. Yellowfin.

The wahoo fishing this week has been as good as I can remember. Several boats were fortunate enough to catch several wahoo in one day. Yesterday we had the Champagne land three wahoo and the Balihoo landed a nice 50lb. wahoo. The wahoo have also been down south of Frailes to the northern Gordo Banks.

As for billfish, we are seeing some stripe marlin and a few blues, but the sailfish were in very thick this past week. We had a few small blues in estimated in the 200-250lb. range, a few nice stripes as well in the 150 class and lots of sails.

I just returned from the dock to give you a report on today’s fishing and once again it was limits on tuna and Dorado, 5 wahoo, triggerfish, amberjack and sailfish. Everyone had a great day and the weather couldn’t be better. Daytime highs in the mid to upper 90’s and water temperatures in the 80’s. The seas are flat clam, and conditions are ideal for some great fishing. That’s it for this week amigos! Hope to see many of you here next week for the 2nd annual Tuna Shoot Out and Let’s Talk Hookup tournaments. Until next week…Eddie

Thanks Eddie and if you would like to get in on some of this action please give us a call on 01603 407596 and we can help you achieve such targets as our friend Ahmed had.
