Yearly Norway Fishing Report

Yearly Norway Fishing Report

Norway Fishing Report, as most of our camps in Norway are now closed or closing, we have put together a report for the season and would just like to thank all the guys and girls that have travelled with us to this part of the World and hope we see you again next year.

I will start with our group trips to Norway. The first being the very popular Hosted Soroya. This trip is my personal favourite as I know that the guys I take there will always smash their PB’s and the smiles on their faces when they get their first glimpse of these huge Cod is priceless, it what makes my Job so good. With Cod averaging around 45lb this is really THE place to go if you want a chance at a World record, in fact it done the World record this year at a massive 103lb’s. Read our Norway Fishing Report

The second trip I hosted to Norway was to one of our camps called Hosted Sandbakken, which is very close to my heart as it is where it all began for me and I always feel at home when I go to this camp. The camp owners are a couple of the friendliest people I have ever met and always really look forward to seeing them, all the reports we get from our customers always mention this fact. The fishing is very good at this camp with Huge Coalfish there throughout April and then they make way to the excellent Halibut fishing. The fishing grounds are very close to the camp and you get a very detailed map of the surrounding marks
The third and final trip that I hosted was to a camp called Havoysund, which is one of the most Northerly parts of Norway you can get to. This camp is one of the best Halibut destinations we have, with the main season running from May – September with August being peak. This trip really did exceed my expectations; Norway Fishing Report I thought we would catch a few but never realised how many and how big! All the guys I took absolutely loved it and many have booked to go back. Another winning thing is that you get a free buffet style breakfast at this camp, which is very rare in Norway to get anything free……..
So I would just like to say a massive thanks to all who attended my trips and look forward to either seeing you again next year or the year after

On to a quick report in general of how the other camps got on. We have seen many very large Halibut this year from Havoysund and Lofoten with reports of these big flat fish reaching 200cm’s and weights of over 100kg. Plaice fishing is slowly becoming very popular with destinations such as Lofoten and Vaeroy actually taking people out to target them with some very good results.

The Coal fishing at Sandbakken this year has been outstanding with fish being caught close to the Norwegian record and I strongly believe that this camp will do a World record Coalfish very soon. When people decide to target Halibut at this camp they are showing some very good reports of many fish in each session

Other camps to keep an eye on is our new camp on the Island of Vaeroy as we are planning to do some test fishing around March/April time to see if we can get some of those spawning Cod (Skrei) which we catch in Soroya. Last year we tested it very briefly and managed to catch them to 30kg but didn’t really try for a very long time.

We are currently researching some very exciting destinations in Norway to bring to you guys for next year, so if you have ever fancied going to Norway why don’t you simply pick the phone up and give us a call, we can point you in the right direction to suit your targets and budgets. We look forward to hearing from you.

All the best
