Bairs Lodge has come to represent the benchmark in terms of quality guiding, delicious food, ideal accommodations and courteous hospitality. Bairs Lodge has easy access to some of the most under-fished flats in South Andros. With its location ideally located to access Deep Creek, Little Creek, the Westside and the Southern Flats.
Andros Island is the largest and least-explored island in the Bahamas. This 2,300-square-mile island paradise is not only known as the Bonefishing capital of the world but also boasts the second-largest reef in the Northern Hemisphere. The diverse topography, which rises from these tropical waters, is full of life, some of which can only be found on Andros.
The Tongue of the Ocean runs along the coast of Andros, just off the third largest Barrier Reef in the world. Seasonal fishing for Wahoo and Tuna (plus occasional Marlin and Sailfish) outside the reef, can be excellent and along the reef itself there are ample opportunities to tangle with species such as; Barracuda, Snapper and Grouper.
New skiffs, with a first class team of guides, will provide an exceptional fishing experience. Your fishing schedule can be tailored to suit your needs, though generally, a typical day will start with breakfast at 7 AM, fishing beginning at 8 AM and ending between 4 and 5 PM. Picnic lunches and cold drinks are taken to the flats in a cooler by your guide.
Like most quality lodges, Bairs Lodge is a strict catch and release fishery. Superb cuisine waits, which includes beautifully prepared Bahamian specialities concentrating on magnificent fresh seafood and when applicable, “the catch of the day”.
