"A long way to travel but worth every penny. Bonefish fishing is easy, but I loved chasing the triggerfish and Bluefin. I hooked 4 gt's but got cut off on them all."
"So many fish... Not enough time.... What an amazing holiday adventure I had on Christmas Island. Lots of fish caught each day and many different species. Fly Fishing for bonefish was excellent along with many other species on fly from the flats and the boat. Great company, fantastic guides & boats, excellent food & accommodation, looked after extremely well. A fishing holiday to never be forgotten. Pictures added to Dropbox."
"All the tips + hints in your pre - trip information were really useful and helped make the trip much better than going blind. I caught my personal best Bonefish, I also had Trigger fish, Bluefin Trevally & the highlight of the holiday a Milkfish of 13 lbs from the fits. I had many chances at GT's which were very close to being captured, but that is what makes fishing, fishing. I would return anytime to complete the unfinished business. A truly remarkable place."
Joining one of our hosted saltwater fly fishing trips offers many benefits. Before, during and after your trip, you’ll have one point of contact, who’ll be on hand to answer any questions you have, whether that be about baggage limits, climate and weather at the Lodge or the required tackle for fishing. They’ll also be on hand to navigate the airports and transfers, explain and show you everything you need to know about the fishing and, of course, on hand to land those PB’s and to take those all-important trophy shots for you to share with your friends and family when you return home.
We’ve designed our hosted saltwater fly fishing holidays to help those anglers who travel alone or those in small groups who cannot fill the minimum number of places at some destinations without paying supplements. Many destinations and fishing lodges worldwide base their itineraries on either two or four guests, so if you are a single angler, pair of anglers or a party of three, there can often be supplements to pay. This is because despite having fewer people, you still have to pay for the same package.
By joining one of our guided fishing holidays, you eliminate all of this worry and extra expense. We put all the trips together, ensuring all the spaces get filled and that no one gets hit with single angler supplements or paying for empty rooms in your Lodge or spaces on your boat.
Our passionate and knowledgeable guides are famous for going the extra mile. They’ve helped landed numerous PB’s for our travelling anglers and are always on hand to ensure your hosted fly fishing trip is the best it can be!
The simple answer is yes. Our guided saltwater fly fishing holidays are a great way of meeting like-minded anglers, and in the past, travelling fly fishers have formed lifelong friendships. Traditionally we arrange for you to meet up with your guide or host and other group members at the departure airport, which is always a good way of breaking the ice and an excellent way to start your journey.
We have anglers travelling on our hosted saltwater fly fishing holidays from all around the globe, so that’s no problem at all. As we mentioned, many lifelong friendships have formed on our trips, and many anglers travel together year after year, which is a testament to just how popular they are and how well they work. Once again, at the time of booking, please inquire with a member of our team about alternative departure airports, as we can book flights from anywhere in the world.
Again the simple answer is yes. We can fill any of our hosted saltwater fly fishing trips with one, two or three anglers, and it’s even possible for a larger group of friends to join one. We can often tailor any trips to accommodate the needs of our customers, whatever they might be. It’s sometimes even possible to increase the size of a group trip to accommodate more travelling rods or non-anglers if needed. We have one sole aim: to ensure you have the very best fishing experience possible.
As many anglers on our guided saltwater water fishing holidays travel from all around the country, even the world, we know that many would prefer to travel from an airport local to them. That is something we can usually offer, providing the flights are available. There might be extra costs involved, but our representatives will always explore all avenues for you.
On most of our guided saltwater fly fishing trips, anglers usually have to share a room; however, it is possible at most Lodges and most destinations to upgrade to have a single room. If you let one of the Sportquest team know when you book your holiday, they will let you know if a single room is available and if there are any supplements to pay for it.
Adding extra days to the end of your holiday is possible, and it’s a popular add-on for many travelling rods and non-anglers alike. With many of our saltwater fly fishing destinations in places like Mexico, Belize, Cuba and Christmas Island, there’s a whole host of extra activities to enjoy. Sometimes it’s nice to have a couple of additional days to relax, take in the sights or explore the local area. If you speak to one of our representatives and explain what you’d like to do, they’ll be able to tailor the itinerary to suit your wishes.
