Our famed sea fishing holidays offer travelling rods the chance to fish some of the very best saltwater destinations in Norway and Iceland, offering anglers the opportunity to fish for some of the largest Cod, Halibut and Coalfish in the world. With a catalogue full of incredible camps, handpicked by our team of sea fishing experts, with over thirty years of experience in their field, we are renowned for providing our customers with an opportunity for an angling adventure of a lifetime.
If you’re a sea angler who dreams of fishing for big Cod, Coalfish and Halibut, then without a doubt, the best destination in the world for this is the arctic waters of Norway. The famous fishing camps like Soroya, Havoysund, Vesteralen and Å on the Lofoten Islands, all situated in the country’s northern half where the waters are richest, provide travelling anglers with saltwater sport beyond their wildest dreams. Other destinations like Saltstraumen, Mefjord, Nappstraumen and Skjervøy are just a few more world-class camps on an ever-growing list of names that would appear on every ardent sea anglers bucket list.
Fishing for monsters of the deep, these destinations offer anglers the chance of catching Halibut Over 300lb, Cod to over 80lb and Coalfish to over 30lb. That’s without mentioning the incredible array of ‘back-up’ species, with toothy Wolffish, deep-water Ling and dustbin lid sized Plaice. If you name a sea fishing species and it inhabits the waters of Iceland or Norway, we can almost guarantee you that it will grow to sizes of epic proportions. Each and every time you cast your bait into the deep water Fjords you’re fishing for some of the largest Cod, Coalfish, Halibut and Plaice found anywhere on the planet.
Depending on what species you want to catch, our team of fishing and travel experts can advise you on the very best times to travel. If it’s the monster Cod that you’re looking to catch, then the months of February to April are the peak months for the Skrei Cod. These are the most significant breeding fish, migrating from the Barents Sea to spawn and grow to epic proportions. On the other hand, if it’s Halibut and Coalfish you’re after, then the Norwegian spring and summer months from around May to September will see you in with the best chance of a true monster. Whatever destination you want to visit and whatever species you’re looking to catch, we can cater for your needs and provide you with a sea fishing trip of a lifetime.
"Second visit to Mefjord and once again a wonderful experience, lots Cod to 30lbs, small Halibut to 12lb's plus Haddock, Wolffish, Plaice, Dabs and coalfish.
We were upgraded to a larger cabin with separate rooms and this really transformed our stay.
Special thanks to your team in the UK and to Ronnie, Robert and Michael at the resort.
The flight times were a huge improvement over last year."
"First trip for 5 years due to health problems (love my fishing) and what a great trip, organisation and communication from Sportquest was excellent.
Fishing experience so good we are looking at booking again for next year so you will be hearing from us soon.
The only downside for the trip was Norwegian airlines mislaid our equipment .
The fishing was good, the weather was great and the staff in the accommodation were very friendly."
"We caught loads of fish including Cod to 20lb on our spinning gear.
Coalfish to 12lb some on spinning gear, shads and small pirks. Weather fantastic except for one day, what a beautiful place.
Outstandig moment was a 25 minute battle with a Halibutwhich took half a spool on its first run and tried to shake my brother to bits which it kept doing intermittently. We followed it in the boat for 10 minutes it then got off after an extremely violent fight."
