Below we have a fantastic selection of shore fishing holidays to choose between. Suppose you prefer the cooler waters of Norway fishing for Cod, Halibut, Coalfish, and many different flatfish. In that case, we have you covered, or if you are more of an active lure angler, we have such places as Mozambique where you can target colossal GT’s or bait fishing the fish packed waters off Jeffreys Bay in South Africa.
All of the hosted shore fishing holidays we offer are suitable for single anglers or small groups to join other like-minded anglers and share in one of these amazing adventures.
For many years now, here at Sportquest, we have been searching for a destination that offers anglers the chance to do battle with huge Giant Trevally without the need of a boat, and we have finally found it, with Baboon Point Lodge in Mozambique - A destination that's sure to set the shore fishing market alight.
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to catch some of South Africas biggest and toughest species from the shore. Here at the beautiful destination of Jeffrey's bay, you will be fishing from the shore with a very experienced guide who will aid you while on your holiday to land some of the Indian Oceans most hard fighting species.
Boat fishing is not for everyone and with that in mind, we have worked hard to bring you something different. This exclusive shore fishing destination will give you the opportunity to catch one of the many sizeable Halibut which frequent these waters well within casting distance, as well as a wide range of other species that Norway is famous for.

"The weather started out wet and windy. But as the days went on it brightened up.The fishing was hard .But we managed to get some nice fish. The biggest fish was a Halibut of 35lb with 2 others over 20lb.For me my fish were Halibut 7-8lb and 4lb 4oz .A plaice Of 4lb 13oz and a pollack 3lb 8oz.Ross our guide was out standing. He took us to different marks each day.Only one day did we blank .Out of 7 anglers only one fish was caught a cod of 6-7lb. ANY angler who has trouble getting around .Tell Ross and he will put you on an easy mark. There are loads off deep water marks aswell as piers and jetties."
"I have just got back from Lofoten islands Norway shore fishing Ross Johnson our guide was excellent in his knowledge of the marks to fish The accommodation was great Travelling there was fine even in these uncertain times I would highly recommend this trip to anyone Even the northern lights gave us a show A trip to remember Thanks"
"Pure fun, I can say no more. Perfect guide - Ross is a marine biologist! Extremely knowledgeable, perfect sense of humour, always going out of his way to make things work, calm, excellent teacher. The surroundings are astonishing - if the bites slow down a little, your minder drafts away into nature. And then the fish - have a look at the pictures. We'll have to open a fish store back in Belgium here... Can't wait to return."
Many people ask what the difference is between a hosted holiday and travelling alone. We will explain the difference between the two holidays. Many fishing holidays are based on 2 or 4 people sharing accommodation, transfers and the fishing, so if you drop this amount of people, there will be supplements to pay to have the same package but less people. By joining one of our hosted trips, you do not need to worry about finding anyone to travel with as we put the groups together, meaning you pay your share and are not hit with single angler supplements.
Yes it is possible you can even fill the hosted trip up with a group of friends. We do not restrict bookings to just single anglers on the hosted trip and it is sometimes possible to increase the size of the hosted trip to accommodate more anglers if needed.
We are fully aware that people prefer to travel from their local airports, so all you need to do is speak to one of our team and request your local airport. We will do whatever we can to offer you your requested airport. There may be some extra cost involved but we will give you options.
There are many benefits of joining a Sportquest hosted trip such as; having a one-point contact before, during and after the trip, having someone to help navigate the airports, the host has a vast amount of knowledge of the style of fishing and will help advise on recommended tackle to take if needed and having someone there to take your trophy shots so you can show all your friends and family when you return home.
The simple answer is yes. These holidays are a great way of meeting like-minded anglers, and in the past, anglers have formed life-lasting friendships with fellow travellers. We arrange for the group to meet up at the departure airport and is a good way of meeting the group.
As a rule of thumb, the answer is yes. It is always possible to upgrade to have single rooms, but you need to let one of the Sportquest teams know when you book your holiday. There will normally be a supplement to pay but normally it can be arranged
We have anglers from across the globe that travel with Sportquest. Please enquire with the team regarding alternative departure airports at the time of booking as we can book flights from anywhere in the world.
