Two River Valley, set along Greenland’s breathtaking west coast, offers the complete Greenland experience. This remarkable destination combines world-class fly fishing for sea-run Arctic Char across not one but two pristine rivers. Surrounded by dramatic Arctic landscapes and some of the healthiest, most untouched waters in the world, it is a true angler’s paradise where every cast feels like an adventure.
Beyond the exceptional fishing, this is a journey into the wild heart of Greenland, where you can step away from everyday life and immerse yourself in a landscape defined by towering mountains, crystal-clear rivers and abundant wildlife. Whether hiking through the tundra, spotting Arctic Foxes and Reindeer, or experiencing authentic Greenlandic culture, every moment adds to the sense of discovery. The two rivers offer endless variety, from fast runs and pocket water to calm pools perfect for dry fly fishing, allowing both seasoned anglers and newcomers to fish at their preferred style and pace.
At the centre of the experience lies a brand-new lodge, completed in 2025 and perfectly positioned on a hill overlooking a private bay at the river mouth. With productive pools just a short walk away and easy boat access for river and sea excursions, it provides comfort, convenience and panoramic views in a true wilderness setting. After a day on the water, you can relax with hearty meals, a drink from the bar and, in late summer, the unforgettable chance to watch the northern lights dance across the Arctic sky.

"Thoroughly enjoyable week, as I group I think we landed somewhere in the region of 120 to 150 fish. It was some first-class fly fishing in crystal clear water. The guides and staff were exceptional and I'd love to go back. "
"Great Holiday and excellent guides. The holiday information I feel was limited and travel itinerary and documentation could have been better and arrived earlier. There was no mention of how much walking was involved and fitness levels required."
"In general a good trip
snow melt meant that the fish are running about 3 weeks late as a group we caught 120 fish, good numbers but nothing like normal.
Would love to go back next season may be 1 week later."
Perched on a gentle rise overlooking the river mouth and a secluded Arctic bay, the brand-new Two River Valley lodge offers a truly special base for your Greenland adventure. Designed to blend comfort with its remote surroundings, the lodge enjoys a commanding position with ever-changing views shaped by shifting light, mist, and mountain air. From the moment you step outside, it’s hard to resist wandering down towards the water with a morning coffee in hand, perhaps for a few early casts before a hearty breakfast sets you up for the day ahead.
Its location has been carefully chosen to maximise both convenience and experience. The first productive fishing pools are just a short walk from the lodge, while easy, tide-protected boat access ensures seamless transfers and complete flexibility for exploring both river and sea. Arriving guests are brought ashore by a small tender before a short walk up to the lodge, with luggage and supplies efficiently transported via a clever pulley system, just one example of the thoughtful design behind the operation.
Inside, the lodge offers a warm, welcoming retreat after a day on the water. It features four single rooms, three double rooms, two bathrooms, one indoor shower, one outdoor shower, two water toilets, and well-appointed communal spaces, and it strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern convenience. Fresh spring water flows from the taps, and solar panels power the lodge.
Guests can enjoy delicious meals in the dining area before unwinding at the bar with a drink in hand, surrounded by the Arctic’s stillness. In late summer, that experience becomes even more memorable, with the chance to watch the northern lights flicker across the night sky from this truly unique and peaceful setting.

Greenland is a place of striking contrasts, raw, remote, and utterly captivating. Life here moves to the rhythm of nature, far removed from the noise and demands of the modern world. For those seeking true adventure, peaceful solitude, and exceptional fishing, the untouched wilderness of the Two River Valley offers an experience unlike anywhere else.
Despite its vast size, Greenland is the least densely populated country on Earth. Its capital, Nuuk, is home to only around 20,000 people, leaving the rest of the land largely wild and uninhabited. Towering mountains, ancient glaciers, and endless stretches of rugged terrain define the landscape, so much so that its name can feel almost ironic. Yet, woven through this dramatic scenery are countless fjords and rivers teeming with fish, creating a truly remarkable playground for anglers seeking something extraordinary.
Among its greatest attractions is the remarkable fishing for Arctic char, with both migratory and resident fish thriving in the pristine coastal rivers. These fish are famed for their aggressive nature, powerful runs, and impressive size, commonly weighing between 3–6lb, with true specimens pushing well beyond the 10lb mark. Found in impressive numbers in crystal-clear waters, they display vivid, almost glowing colours, from bright orange to deep crimson, and deliver exhilarating, fast-paced fights that leave a lasting impression on any angler fortunate enough to encounter them. Complementing the freshwater action, the surrounding fjords and coastal waters also provide exciting sea fishing opportunities, adding yet another dimension to this truly diverse angling destination.

Both rivers in the Two River Valley programme provide exceptional fly-fishing water, each offering a wide variety of features that will excite anglers of all abilities. Expect everything from fast-flowing runs and technical pocket water to beautifully formed pools and classic holding lies. The river closest to the lodge is particularly diverse, shaped by a small lake that separates its upper and lower sections, typical of Greenlandic rivers that originate from glacial lakes high in the mountains. In total, around 5–6 kilometres of productive water stretches from the river mouth to a natural waterfall barrier, creating a perfectly contained system full of opportunity.
The upper reaches reward anglers with deep, crystal-clear pools where fish can often be spotted before making a cast, while the lake section offers a unique chance to stalk cruising Char, with boat access available to explore both banks. Below the lake, the river slows and widens into ideal dry fly water, perfect for skating patterns across the surface, interspersed with deeper holding pools and faster runs where swinging or stripping streamers can be equally effective. This single river alone could comfortably fill a week’s fishing, yet the adventure doesn’t stop there. A second river, just a short boat journey away, mirrors this variety with an abundance of pools from its mouth upwards, ideal for surface fishing, streamer work, or sight-casting in lively pocket water.
What truly sets this destination apart is its versatility. Whether you prefer easy access and a more relaxed pace or enjoy venturing further afield in search of untouched water, the options here are endless. The lodge’s location allows anglers to reach several productive spots with minimal effort, while those willing to explore will find vast stretches waiting to be discovered.
At Two River Valley Greenland, the Arctic Char is the species that defines this destination. Vast numbers gather in the saltwater estuaries before moving into the rivers, offering incredible opportunities for anglers. Renowned for their power and determination, these fish deliver explosive takes and thrilling fights that leave a lasting impression, even on the most experienced fly fisher.
Tackling Up
Tackle selection here is both versatile and adaptable to conditions. Early in the season, when water levels are higher, larger intruder-style flies and streamers fished on light Skagit or sink-tip setups are highly effective for targeting fresh, chrome-bright fish. Whether you favour a switch rod or a single-handed outfit largely comes down to personal preference, as the rivers can be comfortably covered with either approach.
A wide range of patterns will produce results, including streamers, nymphs, rubber-leg styles, and traditional salmon flies. However, one of the true highlights of fishing here is the surface action. Skating or swinging foam flies and gurglers across the water, watching bow waves build behind the fly before an aggressive take, is an experience that perfectly captures the excitement and visual thrill of Arctic char fishing.
The Guides
Throughout your stay, each group is supported by two experienced and knowledgeable guides who are there to enhance every aspect of your trip. From offering advice on tactics and fly selection to assisting with logistics and transport, they ensure everything runs smoothly while maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere around camp.
While the nature of the fishing allows for plenty of independence, help is always close at hand whenever needed. Safety remains a top priority in such a remote environment, with guides carrying radios at all times to maintain constant communication with the lodge. This ensures peace of mind, allowing you to immerse yourself in the experience fully.
Access & Boats
Boats play an important role in maximising your time on the water and opening up the full potential of the area. On the home river, a small boat is used to cross the lake section, giving easy access to the upper reaches and expanding the range of fishable water. A larger vessel is used for transfers to the second river and for sea fishing excursions. In contrast, smaller dinghies are used to reach shore efficiently, ensuring seamless access to this remarkable and varied fishery.

The Greenland season unfolds during the height of summer, a magical time defined by the midnight sun and endless daylight, with milder temperatures and favourable conditions. It’s a period when the landscape truly comes alive, offering an extraordinary opportunity to experience this remote region both on land and at sea. Whales are frequently seen cruising close to shore, icebergs drift silently through the fjords after breaking from distant glaciers, and the surrounding tundra bursts into life during the brief but vibrant growing season.
These long, bright days also mark the beginning of one of nature’s most remarkable events, the migration of sea-run Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus). As water temperatures rise, these powerful fish move along the coast before entering the rivers, returning to their natal waters to spawn. It’s a dynamic, ever-changing time on the water, with fresh fish arriving throughout the season, bringing new energy to the rivers week after week.
The fishing programme runs from the second week of July through to the third week of September, capturing the very best of this migration. Early in the season, anglers can expect to encounter bright, chrome fish fresh from the sea, while later in the season, increasing numbers of beautifully coloured Char hold in pools, runs, and pocket water throughout the system. While fish are present in impressive numbers throughout, the true challenge lies in targeting the larger specimens that lurk deeper, beneath shoals of smaller fish. Whenever you choose to visit in July, August, or September, you can expect exceptional fishing, stunning scenery, and an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.
Alongside the exceptional river fishing, Two River Valley also offers exciting opportunities to explore the rich coastal waters. A fully equipped boat is on hand to take guests out into the fjords, where you can target a variety of species including Cod, Halibut, Wolffish, and even sea-run Arctic Char. Whether you prefer to fish with a fly rod or conventional tackle, the choice is yours, and in these incredibly productive waters, action is rarely far away.
It’s not uncommon to hook up within moments, with Cod typically ranging from 3–5kg and larger fish reaching well into double figures. Wolffish, with their formidable crushing teeth, can grow to impressive sizes, while Halibut provide a true test of strength, with specimens recorded to over 50kg.
With vast areas of water to explore, the possibilities here are almost endless. For those fortunate enough, there is even the chance of encountering Atlantic Salmon feeding along the coastline later in the season – an elusive fish that has so far proven incredibly difficult to land.
On request, sea fishing excursions can also be combined with a visit to a remote Greenlandic fishing village, offering a rare and authentic glimpse into local life and adding a unique cultural element to an already unforgettable adventure.

Thank you so much for the customer feedback as these are very important to us. I did not realise that we had not made it clear on the website there was considerable walking as we talk this through over the phone, however as you booked with Peter, this may have got lost. I have added a footnote now to the bottom of the tour mentioning that there is a considerable amount of walking and customers need to be physically fit.
I will try again to contact you on the phone as I would love to chat about the pre trip information to see what you think was missing or needs some attention to. All this is great feedback as it allows us to improve each time.
Hopefully I will get to talk to you soon.

Eric
It was good catching up with you on the telephone, shame the fish are running a little later than normal, however so glad you liked it so much you are considering returning next season.
I will call you again and we can get things booked up for you.
Regards Peter
