Andros South | Saltwater Fly Fishing | Bahamas

Tour code: BAH003
Overview

The sheer amount of Bonefish makes the Bahamas the go to place for any diehard Saltwater fly angler and with virtually un-fished waters right on your doorstep plus some of the biggest Bonefish on the planet. Some of the best and well known flats are located just a stones throw away from your accommodation.

Located in the settlement of Kemp’s Bay on the southeastern shore of Andros Island, Andros South Lodge fly-fishes some of the most diverse, productive and least travelled waters in all of the Bahamas. This particular area of Andros is home to an amazing number of tidal creeks and inland flats that provide incredible habitat for hungry Bonefish of all sizes. With one of the most experienced guide staff in the area, you will be fishing this large and diverse habitat in the most effective manner possible.
Variety is most definitely the spice of life here on South Andros. There are miles and miles of easily waded white sand flats as well as hidden, unspoiled mangrove creeks. The diversity and size of the fishery mean a completely different fishing experience every day of your trip. Fishermen are transported by vehicle to the dock a mere 15 minutes away in the morning. Selecting from an array of areas to fish and depending upon winds, tides, and personal choices, you will be casting within 15 minutes to an hour from departure and will be returned by 4.30 PM. As many of the flats of South Andros are wadeable, fly fishermen have the option to depart their boat and wade for hours at a time with your guide if they wish and if conditions allow.

Accommodation
Andros South Lodge
Photos

Andros South is a friendly, laid-back Bonefishing lodge that concentrates on providing a focused fishing experience that is second to none. The lodge is situated on a beautiful white sand beach, which takes full advantage of the consistent trade winds of the Bahamas. After fishing, take a relaxing swim each evening or hone your casting skills on the beach.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and air conditioned and each feature a private bathroom and a warm relaxing shower. Probably the most enticing fact about the accommodations at Andros South is that each angler will have their own private room. Unless otherwise requested, each angler visiting the lodge will have single-occupancy accommodations – something that is both, rare and difficult to find at most bonefish lodges.

The dining room is welcoming and laid back. It is perfect to enjoy cocktails, great meals and conversation with friends, both new and old. Tiki Hut – newly constructed in the spring of 2006, the tiki hut is the new favourite spot to enjoy coffee in the morning, a cold Kalik in the afternoon, or conversation with fellow anglers at any time.

Served at 6:30PM, dinners at Andros South are served family-style and feature the finest and freshest products our island can provide. Each dinner is individually prepared by our kitchen staff and accents the tastes and flavours of the Bahamas. Fresh local fish, lobster, chicken and conch are featured with fresh desserts including key lime and coconut pie. Again, complementary wine is available during dinner. Guests with dietary requirements are requested to notify us prior to arriving, so we can adjust to your personal needs.
