Fraser River Lodge Canada Sturgeon & Salmon Fishing

Customer Rating 100%

Monster Sturgeon & Salmon: Fraser River Lodge, Canada

Fraser River Lodge rests on the banks of British Columbia’s legendary Fraser River, framed by snow-capped peaks and wilderness that feels as vast as the fishing itself. This is one of the world’s premier destinations for giant Sturgeon and prolific Salmon, a place where every battle is measured in power and endurance.

The White Sturgeon is the largest freshwater fish on the planet, with specimens over 10ft long hooked each season. Guided by some of the Fraser’s most experienced professionals, anglers face phenomenal contests of man against fish, demanding strength, patience, and stamina. The river is also home to one of the richest Salmon runs anywhere in North America, with Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Chum and Pink returning in vast numbers. With more than 60,000 Sturgeon in the system and millions of Salmon migrating each year, the variety and scale of sport are unmatched.

After long days on the river, Fraser River Lodge delivers comfort without compromise. Choose from spacious timber-framed suites or private chalets overlooking the river, each blending rustic Canadian charm with modern luxury. Dining is a highlight, centred around farm-to-table cuisine and prime cuts from the lodge’s own herd of bison. Non-anglers are equally well looked after, with activities ranging from clay shooting, archery, and axe throwing, to hiking, wildlife tours, and seasonal snowshoeing.

Fraser River Lodge combines record-class fishing with refined hospitality in a spectacular wilderness setting, making it one of Canada’s finest sporting escapes.

"The Fraser River Lodge is a beautiful lodge set in a truly idyllic location and I don't even know where to start with this review... everything was perfect, from the moment I left my front door to the moment I returned home. The food was the best I've had on any fishing trip and the staff were incredibly friendly and exceptionally helpful (shout out to Wendy & Clarissa!) The fishing was first class too and was way above my expectations - If you've never caught a Sturgeon, then you need too! "

"We can’t say enough good things about both our stay at the Fraser River Lodge and our Sturgeon fishing adventure! The accommodation was exceptional and the food was out of this world - there was plenty of it too! I also can't speak highly enough about guide extraordinaire Neil Warnekin. Neil was knowledgeable both about the fish and conservation but also about the area and its history in general which we greatly appreciated. Thanks to Neil and the folks at the lodge for a memorable trip!"

Even if you are a novice, we have the ultimate fishing experience waiting for you! So are you ready to get Hooked? The Sturgeon and Salmon fishing in British Columbia is the best in the world, and in some years, nowhere comes close to the sheer number of migrating Salmon found in the Fraser River and its tributaries. Around the Lodge, you will find the largest Sturgeon population on the planet; with figures now exceeding 60,000, it truly is an anglers paradise.

Prehistoric White Sturgeon

A survivor from the age of the dinosaurs and a relative to the Sharks. The White Sturgeon can attain lengths above 14 feet and weights of over 1200 pounds. Sturgeon can live for more than 200 years and are actual survivors. The mighty White Sturgeon are the biggest freshwater fish on the planet, and with some of the best guides on the Fraser River System, we will provide the big game fishing enthusiast with phenomenal battles of man vs fish.

The guiding team pride themselves on having landed many world record Sturgeon in the past. However, with them being heavily involved with the Sturgeon Conservation programme to protect the Sturgeon, you will not be in better hands.

Fraser Canyon Sturgeon Fishing

The Fraser Canyon is home to the giant river monsters known as the Fraser River Sturgeon. The Fraser Canyon is a landform of the Fraser River, where it descends rapidly through narrow rock gorges in the Coast Mountains. At the mouth of the canyon, an archaeological site documents the presence of the Sto-Lo people from the early Holocene area 8,000 – 10,000 years ago after the retreat of the Fraser Glacier. In the hunt for trophy Sturgeon, you will start with fishing the lower part of the Fraser River, passing through the midsection and going all the way up into the famous Fraser River Canyon in pursuit of giants. We are equipped with the latest fishing tackle supplied by our pro guides free of charge.

Fraser River Salmon Fishing

The words “Salmon fishing in British Columbia” is a magic sentence for any Salmon fisherman and provokes thoughts of true wilderness, stunning scenery and breathtaking wildlife. The primary fishing season is from July to October, and local Salmon fishing from September to November. With our Lodge only being a short hour drive from Vancouver, it’s an ideal spot for both novice and expert anglers who want to fish for either Salmon or Sturgeon and some of the world’s best surroundings.

The main Salmon species are Chinook (King Salmon), the largest of the 5 Salmon species and can weigh over 60lb. Coho Salmon (Silvers) fishing methods for the Silvers vary greatly and commonly targeted mid-September to mid-November. Chum Salmon or Dog Salmon is the most aggressive of all the salmon species. They attack everything. You can catch Chum Salmon from late September until mid-November. Pink Salmon (Humpies) Odd Number years only: 2021, 2023. Pink Salmon is probably the best fish to get the novice hooked on sport fishing. The Pink Salmon show up in vast runs of up to 20 million fish every odd year. Please bring your family and let them experience extraordinary salmon fishing. Sockeye Salmon, well known by gourmets for its deep red meat, is equally appealing and challenging for the angler. The Fraser River has the most extensive Sockeye run in the world.
