The Canary Islands are made up of seven separate islands which are Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, La Palma and El Hierro. These Islands are all surrounded by some extremely deep water meaning that the big game fishing in these waters is very good.
The fishing in Canary Island is phenomenal with species such as Tuna and Spanish Mackerel in abundance providing the travelling angler with incredible sport. The Canary Islands is also famous for its big Blue Marlin fishing with the chance of a real beast being a possibility for any angler fishing from the boats.
The beach fishing in the Canary Islands can be just as good as the boat fishing, there is a chance of not only sharks from the beach but Stingrays and these Stingrays reach some very big sizes with fish over 200lb commonplace.
The freshwater fishing in the Canary Islands is also very good. These warm climates combined with waters that are rich in nutrients and food mean that the Carp here grow to some very chunky sizes. This gives the travelling freshwater angler the chance to do some serious Carp angling in stunning scenery and warm weather.
The Canary Islands are also a destination we would recommend for anglers wishing to travel with their families, these locations are perfect for family days out with many things to for those who are not dangling a line in the water.
