El Pescador Report 27th December 2020 to 2nd January 2021

As we finally say goodbye to 2020 we begin 2021 and by the looks of things the fishing is already starting out great in Belize! We won’t keep you waiting so we will hand you over to our head guide in El Pescador –

December 27th 2020 to January 2nd 2021

This was a relatively slow week, with the weather playing a big part. Cloudy days made it difficult to spot fish, and the wind added to our woes. Permit were seen everywhere but refused flies and were extremely difficult to hook. Young Marshall S landed a beautiful Permit of 20 lbs using a live crab, and his Dad Josh broke one-off. The Snook bite is on.

What Guests Were Catching

Bonefish

Very good numbers of bones were caught with several fish in the 2 to 3 Lb. class.

Tarpon

Four Tarpon landed this week, ranging between 5 and 10 Lbs. The Tarpon were difficult to hook..

Other species

Some good Snook were landed with a fish of 15 Lbs by Matt S fishing with Capt. Cesar. Anglers also landed several nice Jacks. Jacks are all over the flats at the moment and very willing to take flies.
