Another fantastic week comes to an end in Alphonse, its great to see anglers dreams coming true landing some fantastic fish on the flats, for now, ill let the guide explain this week below!

24th April – 1st May 2021

A group of seven very eager anglers descended onto the shores of Alphonse Island over the past week. Anglers were treated to great weather with strong winds and a spring tide. The tide allowed anglers to walk the surf and experience the best fishing St Francois has to offer.

As always, the Bonefishing showed off!  Anglers landed a total of 61 Bonefish over the week. The largest Bone measuring 62 cm landed by Garry. Day one was off to a brilliant start for an Alphonse legend and multiple fly fishing world record holder Jeremy. Jeremy landed two large Moustache Triggerfish while on a surf walk guided by the Alphonse head guide Kyle. Dan landed his first Bonefish on day one measuring 60 cm.

Day two was a crazy day for Christian. Christian landed an amazing flats slam consisting of 4 four GTs measuring 68 cm, 75 cm, 90 cm and 104 cm, a huge Moustache Triggerfish measuring 51 cm and three Bonefish.

On day four Jeremy landed his target for the week. Jeremy landed a beautiful 38 cm Yellowmargin Triggerfish. Laurant Dobler managed to match Jeremy and landed a fantastic 35 cm Moustache Triggerfish.

Day five was a great day for Paul. Paul came to Alphonse with the hopes of landing a GT and on day five he managed to land three fantastic GTs measuring 70 cm, 77 cm and 80 cm.  Laurant finally landed his dream fish on day six, he landed a fantastic 83 cm GT fished off the back of a stingray.

Another fantastic week was spent at Alphonse Island fishing the St Francois Atoll. Memories were made and bonds were formed that will last a lifetime. Stay tuned for next week’s report as we are sure you won’t want to miss it.
