Weather conditions in Lakselv can be unpredictable and erratic, and this week showed no exception. Our overcast and mild forecast quickly turned to hot and bright days at the start of the week. While we were glad to welcome back many returning friends of the lodge this week, we had to make a change in tactics to combat the difficult fishing conditions. This meant downsizing the leader diameter and using very small flies to trick these Lakselva beasts.
Despite the warm river conditions, many of the guests this week were fortunate to hook and shake hands with Salmon under the blazing sun.
Our Home Pool had excellent fishing this week, and long time guest Dima from Latvia, was able to land three great Salmon throughout the beat, with his biggest being 15 kg, once again Henrik our camp manager had to dive into the water to save the fish for Dima.
Mike from the UK also tested his luck in Home Pool and came out with another beautiful fish.
All in all we were very impressed with our guest’s abilities to adapt to the circumstances and land some great fish under difficult conditions.
