Even tho this week down at Rio Marie was plagued with rain through-out the week, this didn’t stop the 8 anglers from getting stuck into some lovely Peacock Bass.
Weather: We had mostly rainy days throughout the whole week.
Temperatures between: 20 and 37ºC
River Conditions: The Marié River was rising due to the constant rain.
Fishing Conditions:
We started the week on the middle section of the Marié and fished our way down to the Negro River. Due to the constant rain that fell during the week, the water kept rising and the fishing was difficult.
Fishing Stats:
Number of Anglers: 8
Speckled Peacock Bass caught: 74
Speckled Peacock Bass Over 10lbs: 2
Speckled Peacock Bass Over 15lbs: 4
Highlight of the Week:
Fishing in high water conditions is not easy, and it takes dedication and persistence to see results in those situations. Our anglers didn’t give up and faced the tough conditions for the whole week, showing us that they have what it takes! It is on the bad weather days when fishing is often most magical.
