Norway Shore Fishing Report Week 1 2020 Autumn Season

As many of us are sitting on dark cold beaches back in the UK probably blanking and catching loads of dogfish Ross is out in northern Norway making anglers dreams come true. The fishing out there has been nothing short of brilliant yet again.

The first week was set to be an epic week with big tides and 4 super keen anglers. Ross has sent us his report at the end of the week and if you would like to reserve a place then the booking details are at the bottom of this report:

Week 1 Autumn 2020

It was fantastic to get our Autumn/Winter shore season underway this week, in which despite the current COVID nightmare, four keen anglers from the UK joined me in the camp. With big tides and nice weather forecast, hopes were extremely high for a good week of fishing and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Over 6 days of fishing, my guests and I landed 19 halibut, almost all of which were in excess of 10lb. As well as this, we had some fantastic pollack sport on light lures and freelined fish baits. There really is something special about watching fish of 6-10lb come up from the depths and nail your bait in gin clear water. But it doesn’t end there…oh no.

We also had numerous coalfish, ling, lumb, wolffish, dabs to 1.5lb, plaice to over 4lb, mackerel to nearly 2lb and a very rare shore caught angler fish, a superb capture from the shore and the highlight of a great first week.

It’s safe to say I’m very much looking forward to seeing what else comes out over the next six weeks. That’s me out for now. New reports to follow soon. Tight Lines, Ross
