Nappstraumen, Fishing Report 20th April 2023

This week’s guests who came here really experienced mixed fishing. Although it was tough, we had good Cod and a nice Halibut! We have already had really big wins out in deeper water, up to the 8-9kg class. These fish really offer a fight and you feel completely exhausted after a day’s fishing.

Not overly good Pollock fishing, so the Halibut fishing continues in the stream. Alexander, who drove the guide boat one day, chose to stay in the current outside our camp and fish for Halibut. The first fish they hook is only a 2-minute transport from the harbor is a nice Halibut of 106cm.

After a few more drifts, Alex repositions the boat in a new location and soon after a nice 80cm Halibut comes up! We have been fishing for Cod on the outside of the camp, where many fine food Cod have come up, with some tops around 9-10kg.

Something we have also experienced this week is a lot of wildlife! Which is an absolutely fantastic experience to see! We have been able to view these Whales almost every day now that we are out on the outside! Incredible kick when such a big Whale that is about 15m and weighs about 25-30 tons!
