A guided fishing trip to Nappstraumen on the Lofoten Islands is an experience unlike any other, with monster two-metre Halibut caught here yearly. Our trip to this fantastic, fish-filled part of Norway is fully guided by an English-speaking Nordic Sea Angling Guide, who will look after you every day of your holiday. You will benefit hugely from all their years of experience, as many have been fishing in and around the Norwegian waters for many years. All are also fully qualified with all the latest Norwegian guiding certificates and qualifications.
There’ll be on hand to advise about the best tackle and tactics to use for the species you want to target and know precisely what marks to fish during each stage of the tide. Whether it’s setting up tackle, tieing knots, un-hooking fish or taking pictures of your prize catches, no job is too small, and you will be in the best hands. They allow you to truly maximise your fishing week.
To match the first-class fishing and guiding, our destination of Nappstraumen also offers some of the best angling accommodations in Norway – exceptionally modern lodges with single rooms.
To learn more about the fish, fishing and accommodation that our guided trip to Nappstraumen offers, you can visit our YouTube channel.
The destination of Nappstraumen is located on the eastern side of the Lofoten Islands, set amongst a backdrop of some of Norway’s most magnificent scenery. The camp is surrounded by towering mountains that lead into the glistening fjord, and these views will blow you away when you first set eyes on them. Many artists travel to the Lofoten Islands each year to paint landscapes, and the location is famed worldwide.
The waters around Nappstraumen are fish rich, and this great ecosystem is one of the healthiest in Norway. Thanks to the location of the Lofoten Islands, it benefits significantly from the Gulf Stream and has its own microclimate, with sea temperatures marginally higher than other destinations. This temperature rise produces more plankton, more bait fish and, in turn, more significant numbers of larger predatory fish for anglers to target.
If all these things weren’t enough, our guided trips to this beautiful part of Norway are almost weatherproof. Thanks to the location of the camp, you can choose to go either east or west depending on weather conditions, and with both open ocean fishing and many fjords on your doorstep, you will always find some sheltered angling opportunities.
As with all our other destinations on the Lofoten Islands, this particular destination offers some world-class fishing for many different species such as Halibut, Coalfish, Cod and Plaice, to mention just a few. If there is a particular species you would like to tick off your bucket list, or a PB you would like to break, then let your guide know, and they will do their best to help you achieve your goals.
When Halibut fishing on your Lofoten Islands trip, you will drift with the tide using either rubber shads or dead baits on an anti-twist rig. When using the latter, your rig will be baited with either a dead Coalfish or Mackerel and lowered to near or just off the bottom.
However, it’s not just Halibut that the Lofoten Islands are famous for, as the waters hold some excellent Cod. In the winter months, the Skrei Cod move in and offer travelling anglers the chance to fish for specimens of over 70lb, with 30lb fish considered a typical capture. There are many different ways of catching Cod, but the most common way is using a silver chrome pirk fished tight to the bottom; if you want to eliminate catching small Cod, we advise fishing with larger shads.
Another popular species in and around the Lofoten Islands is the Plaice; these are a prevalent species and can be caught in good numbers and grow to specimen sizes. Along with these, you will also find many other species to target here, including Wolffish, Coalfish and very big Dabs.
Our guided trip to Nappstraumen utilises the camp’s guide boat, an Arronet aluminium model but larger than the standard fishing vessels. These boats are famed for their excellent handling and safety at sea. They are very sturdy even in rough conditions and deal with heavy seas.
The guide boat is a 25ft Arronet aluminium model and comes fitted with 200hp Suzuki 4 Stroke engines, one of the most fuel-efficient engines money can buy, plus all the relevant safety equipment. The boats’ electronics are also of high standard, with extensive displays on the fish finders and chart plotters. These boats are kept to a very high standard well maintained regularly.
With this being a fully guided boat fishing trip, you will always have the luxury of having an English-speaking Nordic Sea Angling guide with you. They will assist you with everything you may need on your fishing holiday and are super experienced, helpful and friendly. Your guide will drive the boat, find the fish, provide tackle tips and tactics and take pictures; all you have to do is enjoy the fantastic fishing on offer! All the Nordic guides are well-known for their professionalism and exceptional knowledge of the fishery at Nappstraumen.
As you will be aware, Sportquest Holidays offer many different fully guided trips throughout the year to all manner of destinations in Norway. The dates are always handpicked to provide the best timings for the chosen location. This trip is no different, and the dates are carefully selected to offer you the best chances of a prolific week fishing the waters in this area. The warmer months are more productive and provide an excellent opportunity to catch a huge array of different species.
The destination of Nappstraumen on the Lofoten Islands needs no introduction to the travelling sea angler. This destination is renowned for excellent boat fishing for Halibut and Coalfish. As-well-as this, there is some genuinely fantastic shore fishing to be had here with the chance to catch a monster halibut from the shore also a real possibility.

This being my first trip with you guys i will from now only be using you. i cant believe how effortless everything was from the first day i rang you to actually arriving at the camp.
Thanks and you will be hearing from me next year
Thats great to hear. Maybe Soroya next time?
Regards
Paul
I have been on several of your trips now to other parts of Norway but i have to say this is very special. The boats and accommodation at this camp is by far the best i have used
The fishing is also brilliant and i managed to get my self a very big Halibut which i know John was very jealous of (Better luck next time John) so thank you Paul and hope you got home ok
Hi Colin, it is also one of my favourite camps. I just love hosting trips there as i know guys will have a great time and catch lots of fish
And yes got home eventually after the mess up with car parking
Regards
Paul
Thanks Paul for all your help and patience. you really do know your stuff and put us all on fish time after time. The Plaice fishing was some of the most fun i have had in years, its a must for any one to try
Next year i want one of those big Halibuts
That is what i am there for. i simply love to see other people catch fish and the look on their faces when they catch something special.
If you want a big Halibut then my Havoysund trip will be the place for you and yes the plaice fishing was such fun especially when Terry caught that little Halibut on his plaice rod
Look forward to seeing you next year
All the best
Paul
Thanks for helping me over my sea sickness, i never thought i suffered from this but guess i was wrong.
The ginger biscuits and sea sick tablets helped loads Paul so thank you and thank you Sportquest for giving me a trip that i will never forget
One can never say they do not suffer as it hits people in different ways. I travel to lots of different Norway destinations and drive boats all the time and i suffer sometimes
Glad the biscuits helped, when i first heard about that i didn't really believe them but they do work
Glad we gave you some good memories and hopefully will give you more
Regards
Paul
The was little bit of confusion with the transfer on arrival in Bodo, the contact telephone number you supplied was incorrect a quick call to your office and you had the transfer sorted very quickly.
Getting back was easier but i had to get the guides to phone ahead just to be 100% sure. Although we booked and paid for a cabin, on arrival we found out the cabins had not been finished. No apology, no forewarning of the problem had been given.
The camp owners did however put us up in a hotel that was attached to the camp. We had rooms that were good/clean adequate but the cooking facilities were poor. We had to share a kitchen. The storage arrangements for our food (self catering) were shared between 2 other guests. We actually had to use another building and share the restaurants freezer. If we go again we would only go if we were guaranteed a cabin.
Hi Phillip
May i start with our apologies about the transfers and the contact details. As you were aware this was a brand new camp to us and you were our first set of customers to visit this camp. You kindly bought to our attention the fact the phone number was wrong for your contact whilst in Norway, we have now updated all the information so this does not happen again
In relation to the cabins not being ready, this was a total shock to us as we were under the impression that these would have been completed months ago. Once you had spoken with me i very promptly rang our operator out there and tried to come up with a solution. They decided to put you in a Hotel and offer as compensation, a free meal in the restaurant and 2 days free guiding which i believe helped you greatly
I have been guaranteed that the cabins are now 99% complete and will be ready by the beginning of June and they sent their apologies.
We look forward to helping you again next year and thank you for your continued business
Kind Regards
Paul
I travelled with Phillip Gavey's group
As you may well recall, the cabins we were supposed to stay in were still under contruction and the hotel was basic, with a communal kitchen, very basic utensils, lucky we were the only group using it at that time, wasn't very happy with that.
Hi Mark
As i mentioned to Phillip, we were very shocked to find out that the cabins were not available and quickly acted on this as soon as you called. We managed to get your party some compensation in the form of a free meal in the restaurant and 2 days free guiding.
I can not apologies enough and really hope that the compensation was satisfactory.
Thank you very much for the great pictures from Vaeroy and it looks like you had some great fishing. Look forward to helping you again for 2015
Kind Regards
Paul
A massive thanks Paul for pointing us in the direction of this hosted trip to the Lofoten Islands. We really enjoyed the fishing and also good to finally meet you. We could see how hard you worked for us and a massive thanks for that as I dont think we would of been able to land that huge Halibut with out your careful driving of the boat. Awesom trip and highly recommend it to any one. We have a meeting with our local sea fishing club at the weekend and are due to give them a little slide show of our trip so hopefully we can book for next year as a larger group
Thanks once again
Hi Tony it was a real pleasure to guide you two and very much enjoyed your company. And if barry wants to come again get him to make that scrambled egg thing again mmmmmm! Yes that Halibut was a beast and you done very well to land it. I have seen so many times before guys hook big fish like that and half way through the fight the hooks pull so a massive congratulations.
I have some great pictures I will email you and will any day write my blog/report of the trip and will send you a link to view it.
Perhaps Havoysund next?
Good day Paul, thanks for inviting me on this awesome trip. Flying all the way from Oz I was a little unsure on what to expect but soon found myself in a great location with absolutely great views. The fishing for those Coalies was unreal especially on the popper!! Believe me I will be back
Hello Stewart so glad you liked the place. Its a long way to fly for you and hope you got home OK? It was such a pleasure to guide you over in Norway and show you the potential of the place. perhaps you can spread the word for us back at home and bring some of your buddies next time
I bet you are looking forward to your Costa Rica trip?
Speak soon, Paul
Thanks Sportquest was a great experience a little cold at times but still very enjoyable. Can you please pass on my thanks to Paul
Hello Colin, its Peter. Paul is still away in Norway and will get him to email you when he returns. Sounds like the whole group had lots of big fish.
Tight lines, Peter
Being the youngest on the trip was a little hard at times as the guys gave me lots of banter, which I loved. Couldnt of asked for a better group to spend the week with and thanks Paul for all your help. The real highlight for me was catching that 50LB Cod and thanks for the amazing pictures which I would very much appreciate you emailing me as my friends do not believe me!!!!
Perhaps I may look at a different destination for next year as I would ideally like to make this an annual thing. Hope we will catch up soon
Hello Freddie, I did notice you were getting lots of banter from the guys but you took it well and gave as good as you got. The guys really liked you and have asked if you are going next year? Which hopefully you will be?
Was my pleasure to witness that Cod and one that maybe fairly hard to beat, but at least the Halibut target will still be able to be beaten. I will call you next week and get those pictures over to you as soon as I can
All my best, Paul
Hello Paul what a great trip as usual. This is the third trip with you guys and they just get better each time. I really wanted a big Coalfish on this trip and was not let down. I managed a 43LB Coalfish which was huge, we all on the boat thought we had hooked a Halibut. The Plaice fishing was a little slow and was hoping for better but thats fishing sometimes.
Thanks Sportquest for yet another amazing trip. See you next year
Thanks for filling out your feedback form they are a great help for future travellers. I did hear a rumour you smashed the Coalfish and managed to catch a huge one! Well done and can not wait to see the pictures.
I have got you a space reserved and can confirm everything when we catch up
Until then tight lines
Paul
Weather was bad ( gale force winds ) ? Had to stay in the fjords and plaice fish, but the days we got out were nothing short of amazing we were putting back 25-30lb COD regularly! This really is an amazing place to fish. Even though we were unlucky with the weather I'd definitely go back ??
Hi Dean, it was a pleasure to fish with you guys. Had a great week (Sorry about the weather) and hope I get to fish you with all again one day
All the best
Paul
Great all round. Beds not very good. Flotation suit which was was hired was very poor
Hi Tom, good to show you what Norway was like. Shame about the weather during our week but when we could get out to the good marks you saw what the fishing should of been. Hope you enjoyed the Plaice fishing.
I shall mention to the guys about the suits as I have never had a problem before and I am sure they will rectify the problem
See you soon
Paul
Memorable moment: Catching a Halibut
Improvements: Catch more Halibut, Bigger kettle in cabin, double quilt on double bed (minor items really)
Holiday was a trip of a lifetime and have already booked for 2017 and 2018 will be booked very soon
Hi Paul, thanks for taking the time to return your feed back form, I know how busy you must of been when you returned.
Glad you loved the trip and it was a real pleasure to have finally met you and hopefully I will see you soon.
All the best
Paul
Overall a great holiday. I would of liked more detail about the extra costs (petrol etc) to assist how much cash would be needed.
I would be pleased to hear from you if and when you get any cancellations for future trips thanks
Hi Mike, good to hear you enjoyed yet another holiday with us. Sorry that may of been my fault about the extra costs such as fuel as normally I speak to everyone before they travel and guess I must of missed getting hold of you.
I will keep you informed of any cancellations
All the best
Paul
This was my second trip to Norway with Sportquest and I had an amazing time. I was more organized this time round, still little room in the luggage department although plenty of room for improvement from an angling point of view.
Saying that I feel I've improved on last year's performance, helped along by Calle at the vastly stocked tackle shop, following my fellow guests advice and not forgetting the outstanding guidance from our main man Ross. Not only is he an incredible angler but also a really great guy ,undoubtedly a priceless asset to Sportquest because he works his butt off and nothing is too much to ask of him.
Flights/transfers and pre trip info/communication was excellent.
Accommodation was of high standard and we enjoyed the single sleeping arrangements although I did feel sorry for Ross who was assigned to the couch. We were all fished out at the end of every day although we did feel obliged to get out of his way to give him some space and privacy so he could unwind from a busy day.
The microwave wasn't in an ideal position especially for a short person.
The electric tripped out when dishwasher and oven used simultaneously.
It was warm at night and I received several insect bites whilst sleeping with the window open. Bug zappers or insect window screens would have been a godsend to be used in the summer months.
Nearing the end of our last day fishing I injured myself with a treble hook, there wasn't a first aid kit onboard the boat. We eventually did find one Whiteside but it was very basic, contained little equipment and with no antiseptic to clean a wound.
My tavel tips for summer visitors to Nappstraumen are : pack suncream/ lipbalm/ Avon skin so soft or jungle formula/ bite cream.
Local large supermarket nearby is very well stocked with foodstuffs and a reasonable price apart from alcohol which is expensive. Shop closes early on a Saturday and does not sell alcohol on a Sunday and unlike most UK supermarkets they do not have a pharmacy.
Tackle wise, small heavy 5",6",7" shads caught the majority of cod and coalies during our stay, Mike's firetiger perch super shad outfished everything in bright conditions. Savagegear 150g sandeel in green took the largest cod of the trip. Hard to beat a 400g chrome pilk on performance but it does get tedious after a while. Sandy Andy 150g sink and draw technique was a killer method.
If I haven't already said it, I had the most amazing 6 days of fishing and I couldn't have hoped for a finer group of solo anglers to share the experience with. The warm dry weather was a real bonus but I have to emphasize the expertise and manner of our workhorse guide Ross who is solely responsible for our successful fishing reports. The man is a class act and I wish him all the very best for the future.
Thank you everyone at Sportquest for all your hard work, I can't imagine how tough this year has been for. Warm wishes, good health to you and your families and kind regards, until the next tide !
Hi Darrel, well what can I say to that apart from glad we could get you all there.
All the best, tight lines
Paul
After a long journey, two days, we were split from the rest of the team of anglers for the last two flights. But the fishing was great. Guides were really good & very helpful. Weather was really kind to us, apart from the last day. Other members of the trip were also really nice guys which added to the fun. Thanks to Calle & Ross for making it a special trip
Amazing trip, will go again as soon as I get a chance. Meet great fisherman and a big thank you to Jimmy for all the tips for showing us how to the rigs and bits. Can’t wait to book again.
Hi Tim, thank you so much for your feedback and glad Jimmy looked after you guys so well. Nappstraumen is a great location with excellent accommodation and top of the range boats. I bet you are already looking forward to your next trip
Tight lines, Paul
Superb Holiday.
Ross was a fantastic guide, skilled at the helm and put us on the fish.
We went on a Halibut and plaice holiday, we caught good specimens of both. Even managed haddock, PB cod and also saw an incredible amount of orca pods, we were lucky enough for them to surface about 20 to 30 feet from our boat.
Holiday of a lifetime.
Hello Ian, thank you so much for your feedback its a huge help not just for us to make sure we are doing our jobs, but for future anglers looking to make the right decisions. Well done on your fish sounds like you had a great week.
Tight lines, paul
The hosted trip was excellent, Ross our guide worked really hard for us,put us on to a lot of good fish and gave excellent advice, personally I would have him as a guide again.
Highlights of the trip were the breaking of some pb's and seeing the wildlife I have never seen orcas before and we managed to get really close without disturbing them,we also sawfin whales and eagles.
The idea of the trip was to try and catch a halibut which thanks to advice and tips from Ross we all did.
Well done
Hello Robert, thank you so much for your very detailed feedback. These are such a massive help not just for us to see that everyone and everything involved worked as it should of, but for future anglers looking to book their future trips.
Ross is a great guide and always hear such great feedback from all his anglers so once again thank you for this.
And we are all very pleased that you got PB's and got to see the Orca's
Tight lines, Paul
Thank you sportquest for yet another amazing holiday

Can’t wait to go again
Hi Rob, thank you for taking the time to send us back your feedback form. So pleased everything went so well and you got to see that huge Halibut. Where to next?
All the best and tight lines, Paul
Having just finished a sea fishing week at the Nappstraumen Camp targeting Halibut , Cod and Coley all to large sizes ; I would definitely recommend this trip to like minded fisherman looking for great sport with an absolutely breathtaking backdrop for scenery.
The guiding both by Sportquest and Nordic Sea Angling was absolutely first class, nothing was too much trouble. We had the first two days fishing on flat calm seas with blue sky and sunshine and amazing fishing ( triple Halibut hook-up and all landed !), then the remaining four days were either very windy or just a bit scuffly but we still managed to fish every day for at least 6hrs, on one day we didn’t leave the camp until 4.00pm due to high winds but our guide was happy to give us a fishing day so we stayed out until midnight and had great fishing, a plus point due to the 24hrs of daylight in this area at this time of year!
We managed to see an Orca Whale just outside the fjord and a number of Sea Eagles too.
We also managed some superb Plaice / Dab fishing in a few of the sandy bays.
So with guides experience and the fact you can almost certainly find a Lee shore in any weather , there is little chance of lost fishing days at this camp.
You might just want a day off for a rest because the fishing definitely isn’t dull.
I, for one will definitely return to this camp with Sportquest.
Hello Andrew, wow that is a great feedback and is so helpful for not just us but for anglers looking for their future trips. Nappstraumen is an amazing place
I will pass this on to our guides so they can also see what a great job they do.
All the best Paul
Highlights are the fishing.
Communication during the week by onsite reps should/ could be improved.
Hi Colin, thank you for your feedback. Glad the fishing lived up to your expectations. I dont understand about the guides though, which guide did you have? Roos, the Sportquest Guide was running the trip and we never get anything apart from a huge amount of appraisal about him and his work ethic. I will call you shortly to find out what went wrong for you.
Glad it didnt put you off from booking for next year
Tight lines, Paul
Travelling hosted was great not having to worry about the drifts on the boat & help & advise on methods & tackle . Ross was particularly good nothing was too much trouble a true gent ! & very very knowledgeable
Hello Pete, thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback I know how busy you are.
Great to hear about our guide and how pleased you were with him. Must of been good as you booked to return on your way home!
Tight lines, Paul
My son and I have just returned from an amazing fishing holiday in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. The trip was organized by Paul at Sportquest who tailor-made it to suit our needs. The arrangements, flights and collection at our final destination all went super smoothly, which after 3 flights starting at Heathrow was an acheivement in itself.
We were collected at Leknes and introduced to our two guides - Celle & Christian. Both were extremely knowledgable about the camp and fishing. Our accommodation was lovely, spacious and most importantly warm. It had everything we needed to self-cater and the views out to the bay were breathtakingly picturesque.
Celle was our main guide over the next 4 days and worked tirelessly to find the best most fruitful fishing spots to ensure we had the most magical of Norwegian fishing experiences. And his perseverance finally delivered results - we caught several large Cod, some Plaice, Dabs and a couple of very large Halibut, one at 27kg!!
The landscape and surroundings were stunningly beautiful. The air - crisp and clean. We had a lot of rain and were at times cold and wet, bobbing around in 2 to 3 meter swells for long periods of time hoping to catch the 'big one', but that's fishing!!
All-in-all we had a fabulous vacation and look forward to returning again sometime soon.
Thank you Sportquest!!!!
Great to hear you had a fabulous time. Thank you for your feedback.
Weather is always a factor with fishing and is something you have to accept. Northern Norway in March is always unpredictable and unfortunately for us, the wind stopped us going offshore for skrei cod for the first 5 days. Luckily at nappstraumen, there is always somewhere to fish and we luckily found inshore cod on two days with which we filled our boxes up with, the biggest being 39lbs with an average size of around 14lbs. We also caught some decent plaice. The halibut season started the last two days we were there but proved elusive. It was noticeable that there weren’t any baitfish around. If I go back I will go in the summer when the halibut and coalfish are there in numbers and would go further north in search of skrei cod in the future. All in all a difficult week but we made the most of it and had a good time.
Hi John,
Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We did notice the weather was not favourable during your wee, everyone in the office had their fingers crossed it improved. Glad you still got out to fish, which is a big advantage of this location.
Tight lines, Paul
Caught plenty of fish.
Enjoyed the whole experience
Second time going on trip.
Already booked again for next year
Would recommend to anyone who loves to fish.
Hi Andy, thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback. Napps is a great location and so pleased you liked the trip. Not long now until your next trip
Tight lines, Paul
Accommodation, camp and guides were excellent, only lost a few days to weather cod fishing but could have went for halibut/flats in the sheltered marks closer in.
Hello Carl, thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback from your recent experience
So glad you liked this destination, its a great location with some amazing guides.
I bet you are already counting down the days until your next trip!
Tight lines, Paul
Great experience and look forward to the next
Hello Mark, thank you for sending us your feedback.

Tight lines, Paul
Dear SQH Team,
Just back from a week's fishing in the Lofoten Islands at Nappstraumen. The trip was largely exactly what I have come to expect from SQH. Very well informed before departure and with excellent customer service from all members of the SQH team that we dealt with. Re: the ratings above, I rated the fishing as only adequate due largely to factors beyond anyone's control - wind and waves. This trip probably highlighted just how lucky we were in Vesteralen with the weather and even more so our host/guide in Sept 2022. For the Staff and Service rating above, I am only referring to the in resort team in Nappstraumen. Even then I would split the week into 2 very different halves. For the first 3 days Calle was our guide/host and he was everything you would expect and more. He lead the way and was a very good communicator at all times - very happy to follow his lead. For days 4-6 Gus was our guide/host, and although very polite and nice, the overall guiding experience was ineffective and disappointing. It was not one major thing or incident, but rather an accumulation of lots of points that formed this opinion.
1. A guide imo should never be the last person on the boat in the morning, or the first person off it in the evening. With the exception of the last days boat clean, this was the case with Gus. A small point I know but things like that and filling up the petrol tanks in morning with everyone wanting to get out, are not exactly setting an example imo.
2. Although we raised some basic communication issues with Gus after day 1, the overall comms were very sporadic. Calle would read out depth changes for those in the front of the boat who could not see the Garmin - this rarely happened with Gus.
3. Drifts were often very long and unproductive - even with no fish showing on the Garmin, we stayed on the same drift. Calle did not hesitate to go looking for the fish. We made it clear to Gus that we had no issue in paying for the petrol - our time was more valuable.
4. For some reason Gus could not or would not hold the boat. We often found ourselves fishing 500g at 45 degree angles - not much good will come from that. Only when one of us called him out did he pilot the boat as you would expect for a short period.
5. Less is more - last 2 days saw us encounter some rougher conditions - no need to try and take the swells at 20mph with great discomfort, when 15mph was much more comfortable for pax and boat.
This is not meant to be a personal attack on Gus in any way as he seemed a very nice chap, but as guides go, he could not hold a candle to Ross or Calle.
We had an issue with Craig's ticket from Leknes to Bodo on the day of departure. I was able to contact SQH helpline at 6am, and fortunately there was a no show on the flight, so Craig was able to travel as planned. He had to buy a replacement ticket for the 1 portion of the journey, and SQH have already been in contact with me about getting the refund sorted. SQH customer service top notch.
Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to take your call any time. Many thanks to the SQH team and looking forward to the next trip.
BR,
Dirk
Hello Dirk, thank you for sending us a very detailed feedback. These are not only very important for us but for future anglers to help them make decisions. After reading your feedback I spoke with Nordic and informed them of your feedback. I know its no help now that you are home but they have sent you their apologies and said they will address the issues you have raised. Gus is a new young guide and has lots to learn so hopefully he will take the constructive feedback as just that and doesnt take it to heart. All the best and tight lines, Paul
The fishing this year was poor compared to last year. The fish were plentiful, but small, with many having to be returned.my biggest cod only 19 b, and halibut were very small with only 1 retained by myself. While this is outside the control of sportquest, better fishing was envisaged.
I would like to visit other venues but very important for me is the single sleeping accommodation.. if sportquest is able to arrange single sleeping accommodation please contact me.
Hello Colin, thank you for your feedback. The fishing across the whole of Norway has been tough this year and we think its due to the extreme heat they have been having and the water temp is beyond a joke now. Hopefully with you going slightly earlier next year you should experience better fishing. Tight lines, Paul

We were exceptionally proud to be involved with the Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing Christmas Special to Norway in 2022. Being the first time the programme had ventured outside the UK, it took a tremendous amount of work to produce the itinerary and cater for the thirteen-strong production team, but it was a fantastic couple of weeks away. If you enjoyed the programme, here is more information on Paul and Bob's trip and the itinerary it followed.
If you are looking for a family fishing holiday then Mefjord is the destination for you. Not only is this an anglers paradise with super-sized specimen Cod, Halibut and Coalfish coming out of the waters at various times of the year but there are also a huge variety of activities on offer to keep the whole family entertained.
We are extremely pleased to be able to offer you yet another fantastic opportunity to fish this part of the world as a single angler or small group and would like to welcome you to Vesterålen. Located in the north of Norway surrounded by some of the most stunning landscape Norway has to offer. This destination is an excellent area for a mixed species trip.
