Nappstraumen, Fishing Report 22nd May 2024

Now that the last few days have passed, it’s been an awesome and fun time fishing, both for cod and especially halibut. Due to the weather on some days, we were limited in where we could go. We’ve experienced everything from 20 degrees to half a snowstorm within 48 hours. But the weather hasn’t stopped us from heading out when the fishing has been really good, especially for halibut.

One of the days, our guide Calle was with a group in the guide boat, and we had an amazing catch. We managed to land 3 halibut, two of which were really nice. The biggest measured in at 188 cm and another at 167 cm, then there was one at 113 cm that day.

The next day, Calle was with the same group and they had another great fishing day, landing a 129 cm halibut and two smaller ones around 115 cm. There have also been quite a few halibut catches for the other boats too.

Cod and pollock fishing have also been really good these last few days. We have a top catch of 17 kg and many nice cod and pollock around 6-7 kg.

Now we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the fishing remains as good and we’re ready for next week’s adventure!!

Regards,
Calle & Gustav
