We started the week with wonderful water levels, thanks to a rise in the river the week prior. With stable, tea-colored water, conditions were ideal for catching sea trout.
This time, we had the pleasure of hosting three fishermen from France, along with two from Ireland and England.
Small salmon flies were the go-to choice for the morning sessions when targeting big fish, while in the afternoons, leeches and rubber leg nymphs proved highly effective.

Several fish over 15lbs were landed and released, making for plenty of happy anglers. The weather brought its own set of challenges, including a day with 12mm of rain—an overwhelming amount for this part of the river—providing much-needed moisture. The winds were as persistent as ever but proved helpful for achieving longer casts and setting up the perfect drift.
We also had the chance to fish the pristine waters of the Gallegos Chico for one session, where we enjoyed incredible topwater action, landing many browns on beetles and foam ants.
With an early onset of autumn and stable water levels ahead, I’m looking forward to another fantastic week in March.
