As our friends at Kendjam Lodge come to the end of another season, they look back on what’s been another very successful one.
Kendjam Lodge End Of Season Report – 14/09/2021
We are very proud to have completed this special season, which has gone down in lodge history as a “new beginning” for us, our lodge, clients, and fishery!
With a year of rested water and relaxed pressure on the fishery, it has been incredible how quickly we’ve seen results: crystal clear water and fish-spawning more than ever.
The fishing, plain and simple, was spectacular. The average number of fish landed throughout the season was 12 fish per day per angler, and on top of this, several other records were broken, and many new species were landed. This season we’ve landed 16 different species of fish.
In the first week alone, we took advantage of the super low water conditions, wet wading at the first possible opportunity. Then, with clean water and lots of fish ready to eat, it was the perfect equation!
Mother Nature was quite generous with us this year and allowed us to observe several Jaguars, Anteaters, Ocelots, Tapirs, Turtles, and many birds of varied species. The wildlife here proves that fishing is about so much more than just catching a fish!
Kendjam is a special place, not just because of its pristine and unexplored nature but also because of the wonderful guests visiting the lodge. This season was no different; we made new friends from all over the world and learned so much from each of them. On behalf of the whole Kendjam team, we would like to thank everyone who shared the Kendjam experience with us this year; it has been truly amazing!
On a separate note, we have successfully implemented strict protocols in regards to vaccinations and distancing. Our goal was to take care of our staff, customers, and one of the most important pillars of our project, the indigenous community. It was amazing to accomplish this and keep the Kayapo people healthy and well.
At Kendjam, we are already looking forward to the next time we’ll get the privilege of sharing the water with you again. We are getting a huge demand for bookings for our 2022 and 2023 seasons, so we are setting our sights for new opportunities, records, and experiences!
We hope to see you next season!
