The week began with very low water conditions and put the skills of guides and anglers to the test. Of course, the results were not long in coming, and the captures began to take place. Mainly using small rubber leg flies, small tube flies, and float lines. The Patagonian wind, of course, was present all week.

On Tuesday night, we received news from the upper part of the river system, and it announced a flood of the Rubens and Penitente rivers. Taking advantage of the opportunity, we immediately changed planes and organised an excursion to our exclusive Creek “El Chico” spring.

The fishing day in the stream is characterised by very violent bites and a lot of activity with a surprising number of catches that included a total of 68 Brown Trout, all caught with dry flies and 4 and 5 wt equipment.

Due to the river conditions during the second half of the week, we forced ourselves to use slightly larger and more colourful flies and some intermediate or slow sinking tips. With the river flooding, the fish from the lower area began to arrive and moments of incredible action were experienced when there were even several simultaneous bites.

We were pleased to welcome fishermen from Scotland, Italy, Norway and the Czech Republic. Stay tuned for news from Patagonia, Argentina.
