El Pescador Fishing Report 12th September to 19th September 2021

This week at El Pescador, the weather and fishing have been good, and all the anglers have enjoyed some fantastic mixed sport, with plenty of Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon.

El Pescador – 12/09/2021

Here at El Pescador, we’ve enjoyed some good weather, we’ve had a couple of extra windy days, but more sunshine than we’ve had for a few weeks – conditions have been getting better and better each day. The recent group of guests were great and enjoyed a fantastic week of mixed fishing, landing plenty of Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit. They also managed some huge Barracuda, a mixture of Snapper and Jacks and even a Snook.

What Guests Were Catching

Bonefish

More than 250 bones were landed for the week; most were in the 2-4 pound range.

Permit

25 Permit were landed.

Tarpon

16 Tarpon were landed. The largest fish was about 80 pounds.

Other species

Anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda. 1 Snook, was also landed.

Grand slams

One grand slam for Paul with his guide, Cesar.

Flies That Worked

Bonefish: Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink. Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.
Permit: Mantis shrimp, rag head crabs and Flexo crabs.
Tarpon: White bunnies, chartreuse and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choice.
