While the fishing was not at its best due to a couple of cold fronts and slow conditions, our guides worked hard to ensure anglers had good shots at finding fish. We saw a lot of bonefish landed, and while there were big schools of permit around, only a few were successfully caught. Similarly, many tarpons jumped, but only a few were landed. We also had success with several other species, including snook, cobia, snapper, jacks, and barracudas.
Despite the challenging weather, it was a productive week on the water.
Grandslam – No Grandslam were landed this past week
Bonefish – 180 Bonefish were landed
Permit – 5 Permits were landed
Tarpon – 4 Tarpon were landed.
Other Species – 6 Snook were landed
Bonefish Flies – Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl, and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.
Permit Flies – Mantis shrimp, rag head crabs, and Flexo crabs
