The second of our back-to-back hosted weeks at Kalum River Lodge in Canada has come to an end, and all the customers have returned home after enjoying some incredible fishing.
The first week produced over 600 fish, while the second week produced a whopping 812, with the numbers made up of lots of Pinks, some specimen Steelhead, Sockeye and Chum.
If a trip to Canada for Pacific Salmon has long been on your bucket list and you’re a solo traveller or pair of friends, this trip offers the perfect mix of species, scenery, and shared experience. We’re now taking bookings for next year’s hosted week, and with limited spaces, it’s strictly first-come, first-served.
Our good friend and host Mike Smith will be writing a full rundown of the week, but in the meantime, here are a few snippets from the trip:
“Day one saw a total of 107 fish caught between the group, with a special mention to Paul, who landed a Steelhead of a lifetime. Everyone caught fish, and it was a brilliant start.”
“Yesterday was great fun; we landed 74 fish between all rods. I landed one nice Steelhead and lost three others within an hour! The weather has been very warm with temperatures around 26 to 27 degrees yesterday.”
“Day three saw a total of 147 fish landed, including 6 Steelhead. The majority of anglers landed double-figure numbers of fish and have been blown away by the quality of fishing, guides, lodge and food on offer. If these two days set the tone for the rest of the trip, then we’re in for another incredible week”
