Pirarucu Lodge Fishing Report – 23rd September to 3rd October 2021

The 2021 season is underway at Piracucú Lodge in Brazil, and with some nice weather and good fishing conditions, it’s started rather well!

Pirarucú Lodge – 23/09/2021

Our 2021 season is now underway! For our opening week, we welcomed eight clients, six of whom were from Brazil, one from Sweden and one from Germany.

The weather has been glorious, with clear skies and temperatures topping 34°C. We’ve had the odd rain shower on some afternoons, but nothing major.

The water has been a little higher than usual for the time of year, due to the considerable flooding we had during the rainy season, but this has enabled us to fish inside the lagoons and around the main lake. The main lake has been almost untouched for two years, and the number of happy Arapaima inside was insane!

The highlight of the first week was our client Eduardo landing a beautiful Arapaima, which measured in at two metres, thirteen centimetres.

The fishing totals for the week were as follows:

Total number of fish landed in the week:

  • 25 Arapaima
  • 126 Aruanâ
  • 18 Tambaquis

Biggest fish landed in the week:

  • Arapaima: 213cm
  • Aruanâ: 86cm
  • Tambaqui: 61cm

Don’t miss the opportunity to fish with us this season.
