Weather Conditions:
The week treated us to mostly sunny days, with temperatures ranging from 28°C to 40°C (82°F to 104°F).
River Conditions:
As the water level continued to drop, reaching a very low stage, the Rio Marié revealed its intricate sandbars, offering more opportunities for sight fishing.
Fishing Summary:
This week, a diverse group of anglers from the US, UK, Ireland, and the UAE gathered on the legendary waters of the Rio Marié, eager to chase the world’s largest peacock bass. For many, it was their first time on this exclusive river—a destination synonymous with trophy peacock bass and world-class fly fishing. The Rio Marié is home to the planet’s largest specimens, a place where fly-fishing dreams come true for those who seek the ultimate challenge.
Despite the low water levels, the peacock bass proved elusive at times, as murky water from the creeks caused the fish to be more cautious than usual. Yet, our anglers remained relentless, knowing that each cast could lead to the fish of a lifetime. The river tested consistency and skill for those willing to push their limits.

Highlights of the Week:
One story stood out among the week’s achievements. Angler Kieran faced particularly challenging conditions—after watching his partner miss three big fish in succession, Kieran knew he had to make the most of his opportunity when he spotted a giant peacock bass on a nest. With his guide’s expert advice in mind, he delivered a perfect cast. The bass moved, took the fly, and the battle began. All eyes were on Kieran as he fought the fish, knowing that this might be his only chance. The tension was palpable, but his experience and skill paid off. With steady hands and a sharp hook set, Kieran successfully landed a massive 20lb peacock bass—the ultimate reward for his persistence.
Looking Ahead:
With water levels continuing to drop, we expect the upcoming weeks to present even greater opportunities for sight fishing and the potential to encounter even more trophy-sized fish. The excitement and anticipation are building as the season progresses, and we look forward to more unforgettable moments on the Rio Marié.
For those seeking the pinnacle of fly-fishing experiences, Rio Marié continues to deliver, offering an exclusive adventure that few other destinations in the world can match. The best is yet to come.
