Fishing Summary:

This past week was a celebration of camaraderie, expertise, and the thrill of fishing at one of the most exclusive destinations on the planet. Our guests, led by Garrison and Corinne from RepYourWater, exemplified both the fun-loving spirit of adventure and the focused pursuit of world-class trophy peacock bass. The Rio Marié—home to the largest peacock bass in the world—once again proved why it is the ultimate destination for any serious angler. Laughter filled the air, but beneath the surface, the river was home to battles of strength and will, as the group faced some of the fiercest specimens the Amazon has to offer.

Highlights of the Week:

Garrison Propper Popper:

Already a member of the esteemed Rio Marié 20lb club, Garrison wasn’t content to rest on his laurels. This week, his target was a trophy caught on a popper—a pursuit of pure skill and consistency. After casting tirelessly, his fly was finally engulfed in an explosive burst of water. The ensuing fight was a spectacle of power and technique, as Garrison masterfully worked the giant bass into the net, earning him yet another 20lb trophy—this time on his terms, with a popper.

Mark’s Monster Bass:

The story of Mark will inspire any angler. His week started quietly, but with determination and adaptability, Mark steadily refined his technique to match the unique demands of the Rio Marié. As the last day approached, he still hadn’t landed a big one. But his perseverance paid off spectacularly. On the final afternoon, just as the trip was drawing to a close, Mark hooked into a monster. The fight was long and hard, but Mark, with the lessons of the week firmly in hand, emerged victorious with a stunning 21lb peacock bass—the largest of the week. A perfect ending to an unforgettable journey.

Looking Ahead:

As we look forward to the coming weeks, the water levels continue to drop, offering even better conditions for targeting the Rio Marié’s legendary peacock bass. Each week brings its own set of challenges and rewards, but with the river’s rich biodiversity and the prospect of landing a true giant, the excitement and anticipation remain as high as ever. This is where legends are made, and the season is just beginning.

Rio Marié remains not just a destination but a rite of passage for those in pursuit of angling’s ultimate achievement.
