Rio Marie Lodge Fishing Report 8th September 2023

We had a sunny week with no rain.

Temperatures between:
28 ºC and 37 ºC

River Conditions:
Water was really low. Perfect for sight casting big Peacock Bass at the Rio Marié’s sandbars.

Fishing Summary:
Due to the really good conditions, fishing was amazing with lots of fish caught by sight casting the sandbars of the river.

Fishing stats:

Group: 10 anglers

Butterflies Caught: 437

Temensis Caught: 58

Temensis Over 10lbs: 16

Temensis Over 15lbs: 11

Temensis Over 20lbs: 7

Temensis Over 80cm length: 12

Every angler that comes to the Amazon has the dream of catching a big peacock bass over 20lbs. So imagine how thrilled Steve and his partner Michael got when they saw two monsters slowly cruising the shallows.

With precise casts and perfect sight fishing conditions, both anglers put the flies where they needed to be; resulting in a historical double. Two monster fish over 20lbs of the Marie River!

What a perfect way to start our 2023 Season! Congratulations Michael and Steve!
