Week 12 out on the Secure river produced some wonderful opportunities for the guests which resulted in some good Dorado being caught!
Secure Lodge week 12
Kicking off the second half of season, the 12th week at Sécure Lodge presented consistent fishing, with many meetings and chances with good Dorado. The week began quite warm, with low, clear water levels and increasing water temperature. Two days later, a little rain rose the river two inches, causing several feeding frenzy situations with moving, active fish as far up as in the lower section.
That micro change – very short — gave our three Brazilian guests many awesome “face-to-face” opportunities with big Pacú on the upper sections, and dorado of all sizes in every section. Several sight-fishing opportunities presented themselves, with big fish who got away after a break of leaders and wires. This week, all the Pacú we hooked won the battles. We saw many Dorado caught, the largest of which was an 18-lb. fish.
