Sportquest CEO Peter Collingsworth recently finished hosting his second week at Worlds End Lodge in Argentina. Here’s what he had to say from the week…
“This week, Andy extended his stay from the previous week, making it a two-week trip. This is always a great option for several reasons. First, it’s quite cost-effective since much of the cost of Sea Trout fishing is incurred during the journey. Second, in the second week, you’re fishing like a pro. You’re familiar with the water, and after a week of fly fishing, your casting is spot-on. You’re ready to tackle the second week like a seasoned fishing master.
This week, we had Dave from the UK returning for his third trip. He’s fallen head over heels in love with Worlds End Lodge, and he couldn’t wait to share his experience with his friends. Joining them for their first visit was Villi from Finland, and also Michael from the USA.
It was so heartwarming to see how quickly a group can bond. There was plenty of banter from the start, which continued throughout the week until it was time to bid farewell.
As the week progressed, the water level dropped and became clearer, which meant we had to adjust our tactics. We started using long leaders with small flies. The highlight of the week was when Dave landed his personal best fish, just over 18 pounds, from beat 5 in a breathtaking pool called Picture. I’m thrilled to report that everyone caught fish over 10 pounds. As usual, some caught more than others, but that’s just the way it is if you’ve got some experience on the river.
At the end of the week, it was strange to say goodbye before moving to Bella Sofia, knowing that in only 5 weeks, I’ll be back for another 2 weeks.
