This past week(September 26 – October 2) was one of the toughest of the season so far. Heavy rain and high water levels made conditions challenging, but perseverance paid off with some memorable catches.
Stats from the week:
- Sea trout landed: 75
- Plus a handful of Atlantic salmon, resident browns, and Arctic char
- Biggest fish: A true giant measuring 96 cm (38 inches)
Despite the difficult weather, anglers were rewarded with quality fish, and the system continues to show its strength. Fresh sea trout are still entering, while beautifully colored-up fish are now spread throughout the rivers, from the uppermost tributaries all the way down to Vatnamót.

With river levels now looking stable and in great shape, the weeks ahead promise excellent late-season fishing at Battle Hill Lodge.
