We’ve reached the final cast of another unforgettable season at Kendjam — and what a grand finale it was.
This last week brought together anglers from around the world who became more than just guests — they became part of our story, of our mission, and of the Iriri itself. We witnessed smiles at every sunrise, laughter by the fire, and the kind of quiet awe that only this river can inspire.

Our dear friend and ambassador Will returned for the second time this year, this time with Paulo — a talented Brazilian angler who came home after 50 years to rediscover the wild beauty of his roots. Marcelo and Andrea traveled from Italy and fully surrendered to the rhythm of Kendjam, living every moment until the very last cast. Ed and Emily, a couple whose energy lit up camp each night, brought back stories of battles won and fish missed, always with a sparkle in their eyes.
And then there was Greg, experiencing Kendjam for the first time, and Selma — who took her first steps into fly fishing under the patient guidance of our friend Jess McGlothlin. Selma’s very first catches will be remembered not just by her, but by every one of us who stood on the banks cheering her on.
FISHING & ENCOUNTERS
This week delivered what Kendjam is famous for — variety, intensity, and connection. Peacock bass and wolf fish led the charge, while bicudas, matrinxãs, and pacus added color, challenge, and surprise to each beat.
In a rare gift from the jungle, two pumas crossed our path — a silent blessing from the forest, as if to say we are on the right track in protecting this land.

A MOMENT OF REVERENCE
On the final evening, Kayapó coordinator Kopoyre spoke from the heart. He thanked every angler for their presence, for choosing Kendjam, for being part of something far greater than a fishing trip — a project that defends one of the last wild frontiers on Earth. His words were a reminder that each cast here is an act of conservation.
CLOSING THE SEASON
We close the season with hearts full, inspired by every angler who walked these banks. Together, we caught fish, shared laughter, supported the Kayapó, and wrote another chapter in Kendjam’s story.
