The first guests of the 2019 season have left camp very happy after experiencing what the Lofoten Islands really has to offer. Our destination half way down the Lofoten Islands called Nappstraumen has produced some dream fish this past week and Martin and Tobias have sent us this great little report:
The weather of the week has so far been completely magical with mirror-shiny sea and spring feeling in the air and the fishing has been as good as the weather.
Skrei Cod fishing is as good as it gets right now and the last few days our guests have really delivered with both quantity and size, all boat teams have got lots of nice cod between 10-15 kilos and also some nice top fishes just under 20 kilos.
The halibut fishing also seems to be really hot at the moment. Yesterday, Martin went out with Mikael and friends to set the sights on halibut. The weather turned out from its best side so they decided to go a little longer than usual, to try some places that have not been tried this year and with a magical result. Already in the first drift, Mats hooks on the first Halibut for the day at fine 91 centimetres, at the end of the day the group had managed to land a lot of Halibut between 80-91 centimetres, a sick good day.
Tobias was out with our German guests to target the cod yesterday with lots of fish around 10 kilos and also some directing fine top fishes on just over 15-16 kilos.
Today, the weather is still great and the coming days look incredibly nice, so we hope for canon fishing even the rest of the week.
