HELI FISHING
During the tenth week of the season in the heli fishing program, we had excellent catches of resident Dorado ranging from 15-18 pounds. These were caught using mouse patterns and streamers. The temperature started to rise, so theDorado were very active. This week, we had clients from the United States and Canada.
SECURE LODGE
The chapter number twelve at Sècure Lodge was headlined by seven guests, all of them from Texas: six friends hosted by Laurens “Lawsson” Brainard Fish IV.
As a result of the storm at the very end of previous week, the first few days of fishing showed slow activity in all the beats, with muddy conditions and cold water and air temperatures. But after that, as the days began to warm, the connections and battles with fish of all sizes gave us great moments and stories with awesome highlights. We had an incredible day far up on Maniquicito Creek, with several Dorados and a big Yatorana hooked and landed, as well as a 24-lb. golden gift caught in a spot with super-fast water far up.
AGUA-NEGRA LODGE
Last week we were visited by four good fishermen from the USA: James, Erick, Cris, and Jim. The weather was good but a little cold during the first half of the week, and the rivers were gradually improving after a large flood had dirtied most of our rivers the previous week.
The fishing was a little slow during the first few days since the water was a little cold and high, but it improved by the end of the week. Most of our chances at fish were in the Sècure, fishing logs, structures, and fast water.
The Agua Negra also gave us some very good chances, and it was there we landed one of the biggest dorado of the week, a perfect 20-lb. fish captured by Jim.
