Some stories are best told by those who’ve lived them, moments frozen in time, etched into memory by the tug of a line, the flash of silver, the wild surge of something beneath the surface.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing those moments unfold, on remote jungle rivers, sunlit flats, and mist-shrouded lakes, through the eyes and words of the anglers who’ve journeyed with us. These aren’t just reviews; they’re testaments to the thrill, the connection, and the raw beauty of wild places and wild fish. And for us, receiving them is one of the best parts of the job, a reminder of why we do what we do, and how deeply these experiences resonate.
Below, you’ll find a few of our favourite, first-hand reflections from our customers over the past few months, each paired with a photo that says as much as the words ever could. These are just a small selection, but taken together, they offer a glimpse into the memorable encounters that define what we do.

Firstly, here’s a fantastic review from customer, Andrew, who’s returned to Norway with us time and time again, proof that when the fishing’s this good, once is never enough.
“I’ve been fishing in Norway with Sportquest three times now, just booked my fourth. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an overseas fishing adventure with all the hassle of organising taken out for you.
There’s no guarantee in fishing, but these guys do guarantee a hassle and worry-free trip.“
Reliable, well-organised, and always adventure-ready, it’s what keeps anglers coming back year after year.

Next up, here’s a great review from a returning customer who joined us on a hosted trip to Rio Marie, sharing a detailed look at what the experience is really like.
“This was my second time booking with Sportquest, this time for their hosted trip to Rio Marie. From the moment you land in Manaus, you’re greeted by a friendly Untamed Angling representative who takes you to your hotel and arranges your flight into the jungle the next day.
Once the floatplane touches down, you’re quickly aboard the mothership, which is nothing short of 5-star. The food was fantastic, and the cocktails go down a treat after a hard day on the river. The fishing was incredible! The guides were extremely knowledgeable, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Don’t stress too much about flies; they have plenty available at the lodge. I was lucky enough to land the magical 20lb fish. Already looking forward to my next jungle adventure, hoping to book the hosted trip to Kendjam for 2026!”
We’re thrilled to have been part of another memorable adventure. A huge thank you for trusting us once again.

Tour: West Ranga Lodge, Iceland
Here’s a top review from one of our regulars, reflecting on a seamless trip to Iceland’s West Ranga Lodge, great hospitality, great fishing, and plenty of reasons to return.
“From start to finish, our fishing trip to West Ranga Lodge was incredible. Sportquest organised everything— all we had to do was show up at the airport and fly to Iceland. West Ranga Lodge couldn’t have been more accommodating, with a warm welcome and a fantastic atmosphere.
The food was first-class, and the wine was just as good. Most importantly, the fishing was epic—with plenty of fish caught, and of course, a few that got away. I’d highly recommend a Salmon fishing trip to West Ranga Lodge. It’s easy to see why the team and I have now been three times!”
It’s trips like these that keep anglers coming back.

Tour: Battle Hill Lodge, Iceland
Here’s a detailed review from one of our sea trout enthusiasts, fresh from six days of action on the Vantamont, complete with big fish, long wades, and top-class guiding.
“An excellent destination for keen Sea Trout fly fishers. I fished the Vantamont and caught 50 fish over six days, including one blank day. Top fish weighed in at 13 pounds, with another dozen in the 10–12 pound range. All were hard-fighting, sea-run fish in prime condition that leapt spectacularly during the fight. Be prepared for long wades and walks across soft glacial sand to reach the river’s glacial flows.
The guides were excellent—knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive throughout. The lodge itself was modern and very comfortable, with great food and facilities. They also offered to disinfect all fishing equipment, which was a thoughtful touch. Thoroughly recommended.”
A remote river, quality fish, and expert support, everything you’d expect from a serious fly fishing adventure.

Tour: Guayscate Lodge, Argentina
Here’s a fantastic review from a father-and-son trip to Guayascate Lodge, highlighting not just the world-class shooting, but the comfort, cuisine, and smooth logistics that made the experience truly memorable.
“My father and I stayed at Guayascate Lodge for five days of shooting in June, which is during the Argentinian winter. Mornings were typically cool at around 4–5°C, warming up to a pleasant 19°C in the sunny afternoons. We were met promptly at Córdoba Airport and driven to the lodge. Each day, we were transported to and from the shooting hides in clean, well-maintained minibuses or pickup trucks, all driven smoothly and professionally. The overall logistics were exceptional.
We each had our own spacious room with lovely Egyptian cotton bedding, excellent showers and baths, and plenty of space to relax. Each morning began with a personal wake-up call and the option of coffee delivered to the room. The laundry service had an impressive half-day turnaround, and the quality was top-notch.”
From start to finish, this is what a premium shooting trip should look like, seamless service, top hospitality, and great memories made in the field.

Here’s a great review from a first-time Sportquest traveller, who joined us solo at Namsentunet and came away with new friends, great memories, and their first-ever Salmon.
“This was my first trip with Sportquest, and I had a fantastic time. I travelled on my own but was made to feel very welcome and included by both the staff and the other guests. There was another solo angler as well, so we were paired up for the guided sessions. The fishing was challenging at times, but the guides worked hard throughout to give us the best possible chance of success. I was thrilled to catch my first salmon, and most other guests landed fish too—including one impressive catch over 25lb.
The food at the lodge was plentiful, tasty, and well prepared. I’d definitely recommend Namsentunet. One tip I’d share: if you enjoy a drink after fishing, it’s worth picking something up at the airport, as alcohol can be quite pricey locally.”
A reminder that whether you’re travelling solo or with a group, you’ll always find a warm welcome, expert guidance, and the chance to land something truly special.

Tour: Shark Fishing, Namibia
Here’s a glowing review from a recent trip to Namibia’s Henties Bay, where expert guiding, warm hospitality, and first-class beach fishing all came together for six epic days on the water.
” Just perfection! Target fish achieved during six incredible days of fishing. Guides Louis and Alec worked tirelessly to put us on the fish and did an outstanding job throughout.
The Fisherman’s Guest House in Henties Bay is something else—the hospitality is outstanding, the rooms are spotless, and you’re treated like part of the family. The food is fantastic, all freshly cooked and full of flavour. While out on the beaches fishing, you’re treated to freshly prepared barbecue meals, along with a great selection of sandwiches, salads, and more—you’re truly spoilt for choice. And let’s not forget the light refreshments… nice cold beer included!
I’ve fished with many people over the years—both competitively and for pleasure—but Louis and Alec are top-class guides. Their watercraft and angling skills are some of the best I’ve seen when it comes to targeting specimen fish. If you’re looking for an adventure, head to Namibia—Henties Bay is the place to be. The desert landscapes, stunning beaches, breathtaking sea views, and of course, the incredible fishing, all make for a memorable experience.
In a word: epic. What an adventure!”
Top-tier guiding, fantastic food, and world-class surf fishing, Henties Bay continues to deliver the kind of adventure that keeps anglers coming back.
