ATOL Protection – We Have You Fully Covered, But Not Everyone Does
With great pleasure, we can now announce that the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) has renewed our ATOL licence for 2022.
For anyone who doesn’t know, ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) is a government-run financial protection scheme operated by the CAA, covering all package holidays that include flights. ATOL cover means it protects our customers from losing their money and from them being stranded abroad due to any circumstances beyond their control. If you’ve ever booked a holiday with us, you will have received an ATOL Certificate in your paperwork as a personal guarantee and for your peace of mind.
Over the last 18 months, with the ongoing Covid Pandemic, our industry has been decimated, with bans on travel, ever-changing travel restrictions and limited movement across the world. It has been a tough time for us, but the news of our approval was very welcome and came with great relief – a small silver lining in what has been an incredibly challenging time.
Unfortunately, though, many companies may not be so lucky, and many will fail. For anyone who doesn’t know, the CAA applies strict financial tests on all ATOL holders to ensure their finances are strong enough to be happy to guarantee all their package holidays with the ATOL cover. So please ensure that if you’re booking a package holiday with international flights, the company you’re booking with and entrusting your money with is ATOL protected.
It is simple to check. The ATOL website provides an online tool where you can search either by the company’s name or their ATOL number (If a company displays the ATOL logo, inside the logo is a number unique to that company).
With this online tool, you can quickly check that the company is ATOL registered and offers ATOL protection. It is well worth checking for your peace of mind and reassurance that your holiday of a lifetime is protected. It has been brought to our attention that not all companies in the fishing travel industry, which display the logo on their website, are ATOL protected.
Remember, when you book your dream holiday, make sure you book through a company that provides complete ATOL protection; it’s your hard-earned money, so don’t risk losing it.
