SEA FISHING AREAS IN NORWAY
All our fishing holidays in Norway are in the north as the sea fishing is much better the further north you go in Norway. Places such as Havoysund and Soroya are very famous and offer some of the best Norway sea fishing trips you can travel on. Slightly beneath these, you will find destinations such as Vesterålen, Nappstraumen and Å all located on the Lofoten Islands. These destinations in Norway have made a name for themselves for the amazing Halibut and Coalfish fishing and each year fish approaching world record sizes are caught. Places like Å at the very end of the Lofoten Islands, each year, produce the best Halibut fishing in Norway with Halibut over 250cm or estimated 500lb are caught from the boats. The Coalfish fishing all the way along the Lofoten Islands is outstanding and Coalfish over 40lb are caught weekly in the warmer months. Our destination in Bodø called Saltstraumen Brygge benefits from the biggest maelstrom in the world which attracts some very good sport for Coalfish and summer Cod fishing. Then slightly inland in a very weather-protected fjord is a lovely destination of Sandbakken which is very good if you prefer more sheltered fishing in Norway. Just around the corner from here on Norway’s largest Island, Senja, is Mefjord Brygge which offers both fjord fishing and open ocean fishing in Norway. This gives you the best of both worlds and you can fish in the fjord or open ocean.
