Its crazy to think that in just 3 hours the guys over at big fish adventures managed to hook and land 15 very good sized Halibut! Ill hand you over to Bilal for his words –
15 Halibut in 3 Hours
The current Corona restrictions means no guiding, which means loads of work onshore… We had a small window in the afternoon that us guides could use, and we had to make it count. A short drive to one after closer spots and we were ready. First cast with the spinning rod and a pink SG sandeel, and Bilal hooks up with a fat 134cm beauty.
Estimated to at least 40kg, It didn´t take many seconds before both Daniel and Hans hooked up as well. And that’s pretty much the story for the rest of the evening! There was a maximum of 5 minutes between each contact, and the Halibut paid short visits up to the surface before we released them quickly. The day summed up was 14 halibuts with an average around 100cm, some pushing 120 and the 134cm as top fish. Not too shabby for a quick afternoon sesh! Hope to see all of you here when corona has left for good…
