This week has been exceptional for our customers fishing with us around the globe. Our anglers fishing for Sea Trout in Iceland, Tuna in Spain, and Siamese Carp in Thailand, to mention just a few, have experienced some remarkable sessions and created holiday memories to last a lifetime.

Battle Hill Lodge Iceland – Sea Trout Fishing
Our good friend and Sportquest regular Philip has just returned from an incredible week of Sea Trout fishing at Battle Hill Lodge. He landed 50 fish in six fishing days, with a dozen over 10lb and a top fish weighing in at just over 13lb. On one of his days, over 60 fish were landed between just four rods! Phillip wrote:
“Battle Hill Lodge is excellent for keen Sea Trout fly fishers. I fished on the Vantamont and caught 50 fish in 6 days. The top weight was 13lb, with another dozen in the 10-12lb range. All hard sea running fish in prime condition that fought hard and jumped spectacularly.
The guides were excellent and very helpful. The lodge was modern and comfortable, with great food and facilities. They also offered to disinfect my fishing equipment. Thoroughly recommended.”

Ebro Delta Spain – Tuna Fishing Spain
Last week, we sent a group to the Ebro Delta in Spain, led by lead customer Omar. He and his group of friends enjoyed a brilliant, action-packed week on the water, landing good numbers of Albacore and some big Bluefin Tuna to over 100kg. Omar wrote:
“Last year, we went with the same guys to fish in Valencia in the summer and absolutely loved it. This year, we decided to travel slightly earlier and try the Ebro Delta, and once again, we had the same outcome. Fantastic fishing and really great guides, super fun to spend the week fishing with.”

Gillhams Resort – Freshwater Fishing Thailand
Our customer Martin enjoyed a fantastic family holiday at the famous Gillhams Resort in Thailand. While his family made the most of the facilities, Martin enjoyed some fine fishing, landing a number of species, including Redtail Catfish and Siamese Carp. Martin wrote:
“This really was a spectacular holiday and ticked all the boxes for the family and me. The lake is very special, and the grounds are immaculate. I caught my target fish, which was a Siamese Carp, and had some real fun with the Redtail Catfish – they don’t half pull.”
Gillhams Resort is one of the most famous lakes in Thailand and possibly the world; it’s home to 52 different species, with six of them exceeding 100 lbs. It can cater to single anglers, pairs of friends, groups and families.
