Nappstraumen, Fishing Report 13th April 2023

In the last few days, a lot of Cod has come up, most of which have been around 5-6 kg. A couple of Cod over 10 kg have also come up. Halibut fishing has really started in the shallow areas and also in Nappstraumen which is only 2 minutes from the jetty. A bunch of Halibut over 80 cm have come up, also some of 120, also a really nice fish of 158 cm that one of our Scanian group was responsible for. There have also been killer whales and humpback whales around the boats for us. It’s hard to be in a better place than on Lofoten when the weather is magical and the fishing is great, even then you have whales that you see under the boat.

One of our Scanian groups that we have visited during this week has succeeded really well with the Halibut fishing they have had in Nappstraumen in the last few days. They have managed to hook a number of fish over 80 cm and also a good Halibut of a whopping 158 cm, great job by them.

We also have another group from Scania visiting that our guide Calle was out with for a day to look for some Cod. The fishing that day was difficult but a lot of fish came up with a top fish of 12kg. The same group has also tricked up the occasional Halibut with a top of 120 cm.

It was a fantastic ending for the groups that have visited us here in Nappstraumen. A whole family of humpback whales appeared, circulating and doing circus acts for most of the boat teams. It was a cheeky nature experience on Lofoten.

We hope that the weather forecast holds and that it will also be a great week for the upcoming guests. Now we are organizing the camp and looking forward to the coming week!!

Greetings// Calle and Marcus
